Arrow Need tires. What are the best?

After having TL's and putting Pilot Sport A/S tires on them, I was hoping that they made them in the RDX size, but alas they do not.

I was not that pleased with the OE tires, but after checking the amount of different tires available in our size it looks like the choice is very limited.

My OE's have 38,000+ miles on them and they have about had it.

Has anyone checked out replacement tires? Any suggestions?

THANKS

PS - I can't afford to replace the rims, so I need tires that fit the standard rim.

Some other sizes that are within 2% of stock are 245/55 and 245/50.

Well, best is a tough judgment. Do you want the quietest, the longest-lasting, the most dry grip, the best snow grip...?

You probably cannot get it all or even close to it all. Visit TireRack.com and read reviews for an hour and you will get a very good feel for what is out there.

must be driving the wheels off that car haha... I drive my car pretty hard sometimes and my tires are still looking pretty good for 25k miles.

Seems to me if you got 38k miles out of the stock Michelin's, I'd get another pair....

Seeing how all the RDX's have the same tires, I think that the car must have been designed around them?

It's obvious that the stock michelins have been properly tested and designed for the RDX for optimal performance, meeting testing requirements, such as maximum noise level, ride comfort, overall treadlife, safety, and other creature comforts.

Although the RDX is not a race car, it can handle, and it is built to handle to a certain extent. The stock tires do well in dry pavement, but I have yet to mess with the RDX in the rain or snow. However, based on people's reviews on wet/snow traction on stock tires, they seem to have positive results.

To be short, I would most definately purchase the OEM spec tire.

There may be other tires that may outperform the OEM tires, but you may sacrifice treadlife, due to stickier compound, increased road noise (once it reaches to a certain point), but it's worth the reasearch to find an alternate model that will outperform the OEM tires, without any sacrifice. I'm just not willing to prototype new tires on the market, unless tested from another source.

Thumbs up Go with Pilot Sport A/S

I'm running 255/45ZR18s on mine - BIG improvement over the OEMS. They run more quietly, great wet/dry grip, superb steering response, zero issues on snow & ice. It's been a blast to drive, in fact. The wear rating is better than the OEMs. The outside diameter is just a bit smaller than the OEMs so the speedo reads fast by about 4% - that is the only negative and to me means nothing compared to the gains.

If you weren't happy with the OE Michelin then I would search for another brand or tire. I agree the Pilot A/S or even the PS2 are great tires. So if that isnt an option I noticed that people gave the Yoko and Kumho good reviews.
