Moonroof open and will not close
Hi RDXers. 2007 RDX opened the moonroof today, seemed fine. Went to close it and all i get is a single faint click that seems to come from rear of the moon roof ( i think motor ). each time i push close button, one click. Sounds like motor is getting current but is not turning. Question: has anyone had this issue... And how did you fix it? appears per my repair book i have to remove the headliner... which i am really bummed about because it looks to be challenging. anyone got experience with getting to the motor? thabks. Got it to close!

RDX 2007 https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...c2e355399.jpeg Found access via ceiling light i REALLY did not want to take apart the headliner, A-frame trim, B-frame, quarter panel, and that other hard stuff. Not to mention it is The weekend and Acura is closed for replacement clips. Instead i tried another approach. I have used the trick to tap on an electronic motor with a hammer. RDX moonroof motor is toward the rear of the car, just in front of the rear ceiling light. I removed the ceiling light, and unplugged it. Then i got a long screwdriver/punch and felt around inside the slot between the headliner and roof. Once i felt the motor i gave the punch a few bangs with a hammer. Presto. When i pushed the moonroof switch it closed. This is not a permanent fix, but i was able to get it closed! Boxster98 |
I haven’t had this issue but it sounds like you need a power moonroof motor acuator. |
