Headlight Output

Hey Folks! A lot of you here have either replaced an Acura with the RDX or have added one to your existing Acura family. I'm the prior of the 2 having had a TSX for a couple years. My one and only concern with the RDX is the headlight output vs. that of my TSX. While it seems to be just as bright when shining up against the garage door from a close distance, once I get out on the road they don't seem to be nearly as bright. I know it has a little to do with the actual lens being a bit higher off the ground than the TSX, but I can't imagine that making this much of a difference. The TSX lights were some of the brightest on the road...even more-so than the high-priced Audi's and Benz's. But when out in the RDX and dirving next to even some of these cars with just a halogen-powered projector like the new Accord Coupe, their light output seems to put mine to shame.

Long story short, should I not worry about it and just deal with the lesser light output than I'm used to seeing out of the Acura HID projectors or do I need to run this past the service dept. at the dealership?

Looking for any suggestions, similar experiences or hell, call me if you want! Just want some good input. Thanks!

Having owned an S2000 and currently driving an IS350 (the RDX is the wife's) I'd say the RDX lights are just as good. The only advantage the IS350 has is AFS (the lights turn when you go around corners) which makes a substantial difference if you're driving curvy backroads.

But in terms of output, I'd say the RDX is pretty much the same.

It could be your lights are aimed down a bit too much (I feel mine are) when I pull up behind a normal sedan I find the lights pointed just below the point their trunk sits which I find a bit too low.

off topic (a bit) I find the RDX very nice looking at night due to the hid's, the give the car a more "techy prototype" look. My opinion.

My RDX lights are pretty good. Better than the Bi-Xenon's in my Maxima.

I find they work pretty well. It is possible that if you have the fog lights on that the "yellower" light of the regular lamps are making the xeons look a little different to you. Also if you have the fogs off you will notice a difference because of the higher ride height than the tsx

I appreciate the input! Funny the s2k should be mentioned. A buddy of mine has one so when I dropped by there last night after I posted this up, we went out to the back-country, put the cars side by side and low and behold, his were quite a bit brighter. Given that tidbit I'll probably be stopping by the dealership tomorrow just to see what they have to say about it. Again, thanks for the input everyone.
