Car shakes at 30mph
I have a 2008 rdx when I accelerate from a stop, the car shakes when it hits 30 mph but after the 30 mph it runs fine. I already changed all 4 new tires and alignment is done. I dont know what the cause is. It only shake when I hit 30 mph then stop and it runs smooth. If anyone has any idea can you please let me know. My mechanic was saying it could be a motor mount thats causing since it only shake at a certain speed. Thanks

Quite possible the motor mount. What brand tires are you running? I had a similar issue with Nexen tires. Switched to Toyos and the problem went away. Maybe also try getting them balanced at a different shop.

Am I correct that in interpreting that the shaking started before the new tires?
did it seem to have any impact at all regarding the shaking?
I ask because I've had new tires shake due to improper balancing.
If not that, they another vote for motor mounts.

The shaking happen about 3 month ago before i even got the new tires. i thought it was my tires at first, thats why i bought new tires. I think iam just going to take my car to the mechanic and have him figure out whats wrong. The shaking is driving me nuts.

That said, I'd still bet on engine mounts.

Didn't a lot of people with shaking issues like this eventually have to replace one of the CV shafts up front? Can't find the thread at the moment but I think it's in the problems section.

One other relatively easy thing to check is over-tightened lug nuts. The torque setting is a relatively low 80 ft-lbs on the RDX. (Low compared to a "regular" 'merican vehicle)
My wife got a flat fixed once without my knowledge. I noticed a vibration, so decided to pull a wheel. The lug nuts must have had like 200 ft-lbs on them from some numbskull with an overzealous air gun......vibration fixed after loosening and re-torque.....
