anyone had to change their HID bulbs yet?

I remember my old 2003 SAAB 9-3 the HID bulbs ran out at 4 years of use. I thought I kept a pair in spare, the dealer sells it for like $150 a piece. I just ordered a pair of HALO D2S bulbs for $77 a pair. Anyone knows if HALO is a good brand?

I also own a Saab. Those bulbs were covered by warranty, as should the RDX's. I mean, we are talking about 4 years, maybe 60K miles.....

Yes, my RDX is a 2007, which is slightly over 3 years old now. I recall my old 2003 SAAB started having bulb issues (blinking on and off) close to the end of the warranty period, the dealer then did cover it under warranty. But I am moving back to Canada where these bulbs are pretty costly and online parts sales are not as widely available as in the USA. So thought I stock up on the essential parts. Plus, in Canada, ordering online stuff, you always pay some kind of tax on it, while here in the USA, you typically don't have to.
I recall checking out the HID bulbs in Canada, and you pay like $120 a piece plus tax, and that is not from the dealer (which is significantly more). So I figure, $77 for a pair is a pretty good deal, almost a 1/3 of the price.

The only thing I have to say about that is that I paid about $120 per bulb (always buy in pairs) for my Saab. I got the "purple eye", so the bulb was not burn, but it was starting to "die". I know that you can buy "cheaper" ones, but you kind-a get what you pay for. I also think that 3-4 years is kind-a premature for bulbs to burn (especially ones that cost that much), wouldn't your warranty cover one if it died? do you have the standard or extended warranty?

I had a 2003 Acura CL Type-S before my RDX. The HID bulb in the CL died at a little over 5 years. And, it ended up not even being the bulb but rather the ballast.
