My 07 navigation disc & screen doesn't like cold weather. If it is even a little cold, my nav system says cd disc read error & it won't come on until it warms up inside the vehicle. If it is really cold, the screen won't even light up until it warms up. It's no big deal, as I don't need the nav system 98% of the time anyway. It does seem like it is happening at warmer & warmer temps though, like it's getting worse.

Anyone else have this? Is it something pretty common on these vehicles?
Does it eventually stop working altogether?

Never, living in Ottawa we get our fair share of nasty cold and never one issue.

You can rebuild it yourself for cheap!! The internal drive mechanism only cost me around $50 from AliExpress. It's been going for 3 years with no issues.

Mines hanging there for now, but it would be good to know what to do if it

According to my shopping history, this is the drive I put in my RDX. Sadly, the price has gone up since then.

It's about like changing a hard drive in a computer. Once you open the DVD drive, the mechanism is held in by some precision screws and a couple (iirc) ribbon cables. If you've tinkered around in a computer, then you'll be fine.
