Yeah - not sure about the brembo's, but it would be near impossible for him to back away from 2006 calendar year or SH-AWD at this point.

It appears to be an on-road only SUV tailored to take on the Nissan Murano/Infinity FX35 etc. while probably being more attuned to the younger crowd and a bit cheaper. So it'll have the CR-V/Matrix/WRX on the low-end, and the FX35/Murano on the high end.

Too bad. I was really hoping for some decent off-road capability.

Bravo... this RD-X looks definitely better than those pics'. That media selection list is just like big screen i-POD... LOL.

I don't think Acura ever intended to invent an off-road SUV. All along, we knew that the RD-X would be more of an urban SUV/crossover, similarly to the MDX but only smaller.

Anyhow, the RD-X looks much nicer in the video than in those pictures. The exterior looks pretty complete and production-ready, of course with mirrors, wipers, door handles, etc.

In the video, when he said it'd be available in the 2006 calendar year, does that mean it'll be available to the customer during Fall 2005?

I like how at the end they show Acura models bar graph and there is a huge gap between RSX and NSX. That must be an eye sore for Fukui

It means it will be released in 2006 ... most likely in Spring of 2006 is my guess as an '07 model. Typically calendar year vs. model year is used to distinguish. If he had said "released as model year 2006" then it won't arrive at dealerships this year.

It just doesn't make sense to me. It's an overgrown car/wagon? Then why bother when a car would be lighter and better handling....

Whatever, to each their own. I'm not very interested at this point.

Possible reason for SUV vs. wagon is towing capacity. The RDX rides on an all-new light truck platform. Perhaps HMC has incorporated some aspects from the Ridgeline chassis into the new platform for added towing capacity??? It is one aspect where the CRV falls behind the competition. Ford, GM, Nissan light trucks can tow 3000+??
