Acura RDX Seats

We just took a 2011 RDX for a 40 mile test drive and the seats are horrible. Driver's seat is not too bad (since the lumbar support is adjustable) but the passenger seat is horrible. Has anybody had the same experience on longer drives? Is there any way to fix or adjust lumbar support on passenger side?

thanks

I don't think the passenger seat has adjustable lumbar support. I think it's rather comfortable, though.

Nope, either your test RDX had a faulty seat (unlikely) or it's just not the right vehicle for you. I've been in both the driver's and passenger's seats for thousands of miles and found them both comfortable, supportive, and pleasant.

I've had an RDX as a loaner, I found the seats quite pleasant.

I've had my RDX for three years and I can't stand the seats on long trips. I don't think that you have anything faulty in the seat, I just think that you (like me and my wife) want a better seat....
I have compared the RDX to the other seats in the Acura family and I think that they are the less comfortable ones.

Well as I mentioned in another post this topic is totally subjective. The seats are only good or bad in anyone's opinion based on your matter of preference and your body type. IMO, I think they're really comfortable, both of them. In fact all Acura seats I've sat in fit my body well. I can see how some people wouldn't like that style but that's why you test drive the car.

This post is funny. We're about to begin research on a new piece of demographic data on Acura drivers...their weight!

I like that the front seats are buckets. I wish the back seats were too. I tend to test out the SH-AWD in everyday turns...and backseat passengers tend to slide.

The problem is not the RDX's seats, they are all built to a standard size and specifications. The problem is that we humans are all built differently with absolutely no rhyme or reason to our sizing and proportions. It is impossible for a seat to be perfectly comfortable to all people.

5'10" and 250lbs here. Try eating lots of pizza and drinking a 6pack of beer a day like me. Pretty soon you'll have a fat ass like mine and any seat will conform for you.

If you truly drink like that you have a problem....as far as the pizza, I did eat pizza everyday two to three times a day for two years and didn't get fat....

The RDX seats are fine with me as well. Although I really do miss the leather buckets in my 2003 Acura CL Type-S that I traded in for the RDX. The CL seats were AWESOME!
