Exclamation Acura.com "Acura Owners: 2009 Acura RDX" - Front Pic

I guess there is no new front fascia- if this image is correct.

Good, Bad? Notice any changes?

The one thing that I do not notice changing are those god-awful, dirty-grey, too far inset wheels!

I would say 99.99% it's the '09 RDX. However, you can't link to the '09 yet. I would guess in a day or two.

True, but someone at Acura DID tag that picture as the 2009 RDX for the New Owners site.
Since no major outside change, WHY are dealers giving such great incentives on the 2008s? Price drop ? Hopefully IPod integration

I doubt the '09 will be cheaper. Why the '09s are coming out so early is anyone's guess right now. There has to be something going on we will have to wait until about 20-25 of June to find out for sure. I'm buying an '09 regardless of the price.

It might be the same as before, but at least it didn't get the grill from the RL and TSX!

not necessarily..
last year they tagged the 07 model with "08" on their website...
using the same picture...
why?
because there was no exterior changes...
so they could be using an "08" pic w/ no exterior changes on the '09 brochure.

(check again...on the 08 brochure, top angle, look down..where the driver side memory seat function is located......ITS NOT THERE...why? b/c they used the 07 pic..)

I think that they will be changing the fascia to the "new look" of the MDX TSX....that will happen for the new image of the brand...I don't think that the pic is accurate

why do u guys think the car will be changing in only 2 years? thats too soon, even with the new acura look coming through, the rdx is going to remain the same for at least 2009.

The changes will be more on the technology side and perhaps some interior changes like the already reported power passenger seat. Acura is really pushing XM Weather. In order to sell it to customers the vehicles have to have hardware changes, so it seems all '09 model Acuras will have XM Weather as a standalone option or in combination with XM Radio and/or XM Traffic as being reported on the '09 TSX site.

I thought the front-end design of the RDX served a purpose. The reason why it is open (around the Acura badge) is so airflow can get to the turbo. Covering up that opening with the MDX/TSX heat shield would prevent proper airflow to the turbo. Am I incorrect in this statement?

Yes.

If past history of mid model change of other Acura models is any indication, I believe we will not get exterior changes until MY10.

I actually like the shape of the stock wheels. It is really the dirty-grey color that I cannot stand. I could never get the vehicle to look clean with them. That is why I replaced them with TSW's.

I thought about painting them, but it was about as much money as new wheels.

I can see how it is not for everyone, but I love the gunmetal finish. Same reason I love the TL-S wheels.

I wouldnt be surprised if they threw some orange turn signals somewhere in the taillights (just a guess)....Honda seems to like to do that midway through a model (previous Odyssey, dc2 Integra, S2000, etc.)

Looks like the link on My Acura is about ready to be activated. Hopefully, when it is it will highlight what changes are coming. I just hope they hold the line on the MSRP, which I assume I will have to pay to get one.

Why are we still debating possible new features on the 09 RDX? The owners manual was posted on here about a week ago. Just read it.

It is difficult to tell the changes from the owner's manual.

One change that is NOT in the 09s is the auto window down feature with the remote.

The wheels in the manual look similar to the 09 TSXs. I'm wondering if it's just the artist's rendering or Honda actually made a change.

They appear to me to be the identical wheels as the 07/08's.

I read the manual front to back after I posted the link. I did not have the time for compare the '08 with the '09. I was relying on current owners to point out the changes, if any.

Have you heard anything about the '09 that you can share since you stated they were coming out in June with some new colors? If nothing but the power passenger seat then I will go with an '08, but I hear they are going fast. I really don't want to pay an extra $6K for a power seat. Time is money.

I still haven't heard anything. No news is good news I guess. We haven't been told anything new on production so our orders should still go through for June.

considering that half this board thought the 09 rdx could receive the new acura grille, i think this picture answers that question effectively. no way acura uploads a pic of the "2009 acura rdx" that is really the 2008-especially a few weeks before the 09 debut.

for new buyers, like me, the fact that we can now confirm the outside appearance will be the same, as well as there only being a slight modification inside (power seat), there is practically no reason to wait for 09 and pay msrp. some say there is a 5k incentive right now

of course if this pic and that manual are wrong, then this thread is meaningless. -> not likely though.

I agree if there are no changes other than the power passenger seat there is no reason to wait for the '09s in three weeks. However, using Spock logic, Acura would not bring out a new model so soon when the power seat could become optional as they have done with the power tailgate on the the '08 MDX. Also, the pic does not show the rear, which could have some changes. There just has to be more--I hope.

One of the reasons why Acura must be coming out with the 09s early is probably because the 08s are not selling according to their expecations. The logical conclusion (ala Mr. Spock) is that the 09s would have some additional features that might make it more attractive. Hoping Mr. Spock's logic is correct....

I guess not. Acura has finally posted the 2009 RDX on Acura.com
No physical changes. I guess the pic on this thread + the earlier posted manual were correct.

NEW BUYERS: RUN TO YOUR ACURA DEALER AND TAKE THE 5K INCENTIVE ON THE 08!

What is this $5k incentive that people keep throwing around? Is this for Canada? I know it's not for U.S. cars.

And regarding the short runs, remember the 06, 07 and 08 TSX's all had shorter runs. None of them went one full year between the years. I don't think they had problems selling those cars.

Yes, you are able to link to the '09 RDX on the Acura Owners site. However, no info yet on the Honda Media site, which will detail any changes. If the only change is the power passenger seat I am on my way to my dealer to buy an '08 before they are all gone.

I would like to see the grill revised to something like the MDX and incorporate the use of a hood scoop for the intercooler. Nothing ugly like a STi scoop......but something that looks clean and sporty.

You can play MP3 Cds, which I find works quite well.

We just received the new "Acura Facts Guide" today. It says "the new feature for the 09 RDX is the addition of a 4 way adjustable power passenger seat." Not feature"s". Other than colors, this thing is saying that's the only change. Makes no sense as the owner's manual says another new feature is the remote opening of the windows.

I think the Acura execs need to check out AcuraZine to get the correct info.
