6 speed RDX ?
I love the RDX but I am addicted to driving manuals and the paddle shifters dont do it for me at all. Any word if Acura will be rolling out a "typeS" rdx that has a manual as an option ?

yeah, i dont think you'll ever see an acura SUV with a manual gearbox. and if they ever did, i'd bet that it wouldnt be available to the US market, considering that we are prodominantly slushbox drivers, compared to the rest of the world

They used to be a lot more common, my stepfather once upon a time had a string of manual transmission SUV's including a couple of Isuzu Troopers and a Chevy Blazer. I know Jeep offered the Grand Cherokee with an automatic, but only in the first model year, IIRC.
Will we see a manual transmission in the RDX? Nope.

See the brochure: http://www.bmwusa.com/NR/rdonlyres/4B031500-FFD1-41A4-B0D2-C5A4AE503FB8/0/2007_X3_brochure_new.pdf
Additionally, the VW Tiguan (see the thread lower down) is pictured with a manual.
Nothing motivates like competition. If these vehicles sell , then Acura may want to get their share of the market.
While Direct Shift Automatics are the tech flavor of the day; I think there will be a backlash from enthusiasts, who are the target demographic for a vehicle that rides and handles more like an Evo than an Equinox.

Acura will probably relent at some point if sales numbers dictate that a manual will sell in this segment, but I don't honestly see that happening. The % of people that want a manual transmission is just too small, I think.

manual SUV
Too bad acura won't come out with a manual RDX...I have a BMW X3, 2006 which is a blast to drive. But the market doesn't seem to be here for these manual SUV /SAVs . The dealer said they sell very few. I coudn't even find a manual in Jersey to TEST drive. I had to go to Pennsy. Manual RDX? Naw............
