2010 with 150k miles, worth buying?

I don't really care about having the greatest & latest cars anymore, just something comfortable that I can drive 20 miles a day without much hassle.

There's a 2010 RDX with SH-AWD & Tech, 150k miles, advertised for 8500.

Is that a good deal?
What services having been done should I look out for?
Will the turbo last?

I've responded to the ad, but haven't heard back yet.
I think it's a single owner vehicle.
Ad claims there's not a scratch inside or out (obviously there has to be scratches).
Ad claims dealer serviced.

If it checks out, then I'd say yes (especially if you can get them down some).

Really, there's nothing too special about the servicing. If it's dealer serviced, the owner should have or can get records.

As far as the turbo, they really don't seem failure prone.

As with any high mileage car, check it thoroughly and run both a Carfax and Autocheck (can get both on Fiverr for $10).

My '09 had about 140k when I got it. It was obvious that it was babied by it's one previous owner.

As with any car, how it's been treated means far more than how many miles are on the odometer.

Good luck!

Heck, I just paid $7,795, was asking $7,995 for a 2007 RDX tech, 175,000 miles, with a previous accident, and various small dings, scratches, and a spot where detail burned the paint...

I also had to get a console armrest/lid installed as it was missing?

If it checks out, consider yourself extremely lucky!!!

Wow, makes my 2008 with 74k miles seem NEW! You guys are brave but a great testament to the RDX durability. I should expect trouble free miles for the next 100K

Weird, the CL ad now shows 10500 as the price. I'm almost certain it was 8500 yesterday.
It's the second owner, which makes it a bit more suspect

Damn, I bought my 2011 FWD Tech two years ago for $26.3K OTD with 35K miles on it. Now I feel like I am ripped off. Just kidding, it was market price at that time, so I expect it to depreciate each year. Now, she is out to pasture waiting on the air bag fix. So I would check to see if it has had the air bag fix as well. Not that I expect you to die as soon as you drive it, but, knowing there is a recall issued is good information to have.

You can get a similar 2013 RDX for around 26-27k now - sounds about like your deal at the time. Of course all the CPO units are on hold until the airbag issues are resolved.

Vehicles depreciate so fast the first five years...

I just saw a 2013 Accord Touring for $10,995, 109,000 miles, it was about $5,000 below current average value...

But still, it was $37,000 three years ago, cough...

So, that was like only one year ago they came out, so it feels...

I've seen some 2011s with about 78k miles for $16.9...

I also saw a 2010 white tech, don't remember if it had the SH or not...

It had about 140,000 miles, it was $12,995, with a torn center armrest, and oxidized headlights if I remember... I could be wrong...

But, $8500 is a steal...

So, thread poster, can't remember your name, please don't leave this one behind if it looks good...

Also, if it is a 2010, without the SH-AWD, it may have front drivetrain issues, such as pre-mature axle wear... I don't think it's a widespread problem, but there is a thread about it, and it's not very far down...

Even so, have it checked out, if you can... It's probably alright as people wouldn't be so loyal to them if they had problems...

I have a 2007, and I accurately really like the look of the MMC, 2010-2012 quite a lot...

They look more luxurious, a little less plain...

When dealing with a Honda product, mileage is secondary to maintenance and treatment.

I've seen Honda's with well over 200k miles that looked and drove like sub-50k mile cars. Sure, parts wear out (struts, bearings, etc.) and some ancillaries may break (starters, radiators, alternators, etc.), but with proper care, the drive-trains tend to hold up very well.

^ Yep! It's all about how well cared for it is.

Look at the maint records. Was every item done and done on time?

The dealer it was serviced at will have records too.

I just traded my 2011 AWD Tech last week. 115,000 miles and still felt great. I'm sure the next owner will be very happy. I handed over full maintenance records with it. Dealer gave me $12,000 for it.
