Anybody Like the Gold Emblem and Lettering?

I think it looks classy, especially against the Moroccan Red of my RDX. The day I drove home my new vehicle (three days ago), my teenages immediately commented on the gold emblems and letters in the rear of the car. Definitely makes it look more upscale.

The gold would look good set against certain colors (Red being one of them). Other colors like the Silver would not look good with the gold emblem and lettering.

I'm going to have to say no. I think that it looks tacky.

I agree that it looks OK on certain colors, like white and red. Gold clashes badly with metallic colors.

When I see the gold on a Lexus or Infiniiti, I say "wow." I've seen it on a Navy blue Acura RL. Double "Wow!"

I was a bit concerned over the vanilla look of my Moroccan Red RDX (before I bought it). Something was missing. So I asked for the gold emblems, front and back, and gold for the "Acura", "RDX-Turbo" and "SH-AWD" on the back of the vehicle. I was stunned at the difference it made. It went from "vanilla" to "Wow."

Nope - tacky and not my taste, but then again, I dont buy a car for others to look at. I buy for expected reliability and features I want or need.

Neither do I. I'm the one who likes the way it looks with the gold emblem.

It costs $56.76 at http://www.handa-accessories.com/rdx.html. Looking at the installation instructions, it seems to be a big pain to get it installed ... especially removing the negative battery terminal wire to install the front "A" symbol.

It was free. The dealer did it. I asked for it to be included gratis after I negotiated a price for the car. That and the front spoiler and the bad weather mats, which were just in time because it snowed the day after I brought my car home.

As an option, it is listed at $140. But like I said, I got it for nothing.

I wouldn't like it unless the car was either black or white, and had gold/bronze wheels with a chrome lip. That would be the only exception, otherwise looks out of date and reminds me of an elderly person's car.

Agree with a number of posters here, Gold trimmings are very 1990's and outdated... I remember owning a 1999 TL and Gold emblems were offered then, and it seems only in Japanese brand cars. It appears to be directed at asian consumers (no discrimination intended here, as I am also asian) who look at Gold plated stuff as meaning wealth... I have a friend who is a builder and to this day, still design houses with Gold embossings on doors and windows...

I personally don't like Gold emblems...

Wink gold>silver

I almost got them when I purchased my pearl white RDX. I wanted to go with the gold emblems/bronze or gold rims combo. Decided against it, couldn't be happier. But hey to each man his own...

alot of 4Runners/Camry had gold emblems back in early 90's, at first they were okay but now silver is in and gold is out. But I think you could get away with it since your car is red.

In the week that I've owned my RDX, I've seen several 2005-2007 Lexus SUVs with the gold lettering driven by people who look like stock brokers. That's a lot more recent than "early 90's."

To the ignorant who think the gold lettering is "ghetto" (whatever that means) how about funky different grills on the RDX or 22" rims, or stripping all the brand identification off the vehicle? What do you people call that? Modding? The difference escapes me.

Sorry, it's been raining non-stop out here for days. The only time it hasn't been raining I was up in Massachusetts on vacation over the Thanksgiving weekend, with my eight passenger "limo", my 2007 Saturn Outlook XR.

I'll take some pix of my RDX soon. Thanks for asking.

Gold emblems are very 90s. But hey, as long as it looks good to YOU, the owner, then it's fine.
