2006 Acura RDX vs 2006 Toyota RAV4

Looking for a competitor for the RDX is tough until the 2006 Toyota RAV4 was released. Some ppl argue that the RDX is against the bigger mid sized SUVs as the RX330 or X5, but i think that's a stretch... maybe in power, but not in class. Those SUVs would have to go with the MDX.

The RAV4 outputs more power than an Acura TL and is just as fast in straight line accelerlation. There's no competition for cornering of course. The RAV4 is more powerful than the RDX, but from a bigger engine. The RDX and the RAV4 are pretty much neck to neck with the V6 version of the RAV4, while the 4 cylinder version will go with the CRV.

The next closest compeition with that much power would be the BMW X3, but then the price is luxury of course. This kind of market placement for the RDX tells me that Acura is not yet luxury and can compete with both the mainstream cars as well as luxury ~ somewhere in between.

Whichever way Acura is, luxury or not, I'm still shocked with the new 2006 RAV4.

The trouble with the RAV4 is...

.... that no matter how good the specs look on paper, the exterior is still typical Toyota - dowdy and drab. Image is a big factor in this segment and I still don't understand why Toyota/Lexus can't just get any decent designer for their cars.

Last comment was a lil eh... Looks are all subjective dude. I like the looks you don't quite simple. GO TEST DRIVE THE NEW RAV4, I might actually get rid of my TSX for it, but we'll see what happens

Looks are Subjective

Looks are really a personal preference. I mean the same can be said about Honda/Acura cars too. Whey can't they get a good designer either. Couple ppl i know think that Honda can't design interiors other than some of the newer Acura models like the TL and TSX.

Also, didn't know that this topic was already touched on before:

I just didn't know that there were more posts depending on how u searched it. Sorry Guys!
