Wouldn't you need new headlamps also? It wouldn't be cheap and I guess you must like the 2010 facelift?

I'm wondering about the headlamps because the 2011 (and maybe 2010) models have blackhoused headlamps. It looks like they kept the shape the same though...wondering about the behind-the-scenes action...if they're bolted up the same way.

i doubt it would work since the grills are different and the lines of the hood look slightly different as well. the rear looks similar, but not sure how our round exhausts would look in that rectangular cutout

looking at part diagrams and numbers it looks like it can be retrofitted.

the front fenders are the same part # and the headlight shape hasn't changed. which means the new bumper will fit on. they sell the new front grill which you will have to buy along with the fog light plastic cover and new fog light bulb.

as for the rear the pre face lift is 1 bumper but on the facelift it is 3 2 rear panels and the middle (diffuser). all of which seems to bolt up as well.

lastly you will have to swap just the muffler tips which are also available.

based on the part # and diagrams im 90% sure it is possible...

I am sure it's possible without having to do much. I think that what you need to do is BUY lots of parts, and then bolt them on.

no kidding, there are some 2010 people that don't like the new fascia. If you are convincing enough they may let you swap....

your better off trading it in for a new one and giving someone else the opportunity to enjoy the clean and sporty styling of the 07-09 rdx

changing the whole front end will probably run you 7k... and it will not be factory paint

just by looking at the pictures it looks like you will need front bumper, hood, grille, headlights
rear bumper, tailgate, exhaust

the most expensive part is the labor

the hood shares the same part # as well as the head lights, trunk is the same and you can just order the muffler tips alone.

the project won't be higher then what i projected above...

i will update here with a complete part # list when & if i decide to go this route. thanks guys.

Unless your 08 was in an accident and it cost the same for replacement parts; I'm not sure why someone would want to go with the 10-11 styling? I rather have the tech instead (streaming Bluetooth audio, auto on/off headlights, updated Navi, power passenger seat). The only thing the 07-09 RDX is missing is the front lip spoiler to make it complete. Not too crazy about unpainted bumpers on the RDX/MDX for a $30,000-$50,000 CUV/SUV.

I actually prefer the 07-09 styling. The beak on the 10+ is not good. It looks bolted on. Later versions of the beak, like on the 16+ ILX looks pretty good. The 10's beak looks like a little Hitler mustache.

I was thinking about swapping the headlights for the newer 10-11 headlights. Let me know if they fit with the old 07-09 bumper without any modification. I would appreciate it. I know the rear quarter panels and tailgate is pretty much the same for both 07-09 and 10-11 rdx.

I think the only difference with the 10-11 headlights is that they are smoked, instead of totally silver inside? Other than that they are identical. Doesn't seem worth it to me. Unless you had an insurance claim and requested the 10-11 replacement.

Just got a CBP 2011 RDX. Really want to convert to the 2009-2009 front end. Has anyone attempted this swap? Does anyone want to swap front ends?

It looks like you need to swap hoods too...

Its doable, you'll need
1 07-09 hood
2 front bumper
3 Front grille
4 .07-09 fog lights

I converted my entire front-end from 07-09 to 2010-2012..
To convert 2010-2012 to 07-09 rear
1 rear bumper
2 rear muffler tips.
3 rear trunk door cover.

Awesome. Thank you.

A few more questions:

Did you swap with another RDX? Buy used? Buy new?

What did it end up costing you? Were you able to sell your original parts?

Were you able to reuse hardware? Did you need to order more or did you have any left over?

Did you notice anything different about item number 2 in the attached image? It has a different part number for the 2010 face lift.

Was the wiper cowl any different? Also seeing different part numbers there.

Thank you.

I apoligize about the late reply, have a look at this thread.
https://acurazine.com/forums/first-g...bumper-977134/

I bought my parts used, sold my original front bumper and foglights i scrap the original hood still have the front grille.

The breakdown
250 Front bumper
364 Front grille.. new from the dealer
70 Front bumper center plastic cover
125 Foglight covers
740 Hood
25 halo foglights
Free plastic tabs an a couple screws. I honestly wouldn't worry about item number 2 on the diagram. i'm sure you'll figured it out. Some items could've been cheaper for instance the front bumper i came a cross one for 120 vs 250. the hood 700 vs 740. Anyway 1574 is the grand total.
