NSX or 911?
Just thinking out loud, I've always wanted a Porsche 911, something I set as a goal for myself (life is short, so my motto is work hard and play hard).
Given a choice, would you buy a CPO 911 (new ones are just too dam expensive, unless I can persuade my CPA to write off the cost of a 911 through my business) or a 1G NSX?

I'd go with the 911. YOLO.

How are current NSX owners on AZ feeling about their NSX? Short of a new $250k Ferrari, do you feel the NSX is the "it" car (ie. "I got it, I've made it, and I'm satisfied with the NSX as the car.) Or do you feel the NSX is a stepping stone to something else, be it a 911, R8, etc?

Which model 911? That changes the answer considerably. There is the normal 911 Carrera, 911 Carrera 4, 911 Targa, 911 Turbo, 911 Turbo S, 911 GT3, and so on. All of these cars are VERY different from each other. Do you know which one you would be looking at?
I have had a 911 SC Cabriolet and newer model 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet and have driven many other models, and can give you some first hand feedback if you know which model you want.
That all being said....I have also owned (3) different NSXs, and have had at least one (two for a few years) in my garage at all times for the past 18 years. Just sayin...

I walk past 911's given the fact that they are a dime a dozen... At least in SLC... Have only seen 1 nsx in the 2 year's i've lived here... That thing driving by me in the rain enriched my existence... Then again I am biased... I prefer the exclusivity of an NSX any day...

How I missed this post I don't know. To answer your question(if it hasn't been answered already) Most NSX owners feel it has the "it" car. Is it the fastest car, not by a long shot. Is it a well balanced car hell yeah it is. I would not fault someone for getting the 911. It is an amazing machine. For me the NSX was my dream car. There are a lot of previous owners that left for Ferrari's, Porsche and came back and bought a 2nd NSX. I will say this though drive each one, and whichever one stirrs your soul more, buy that one.

NSX because you hardly ever see them and it seems for some weird reason people think they are Ferrari's.
Not to mention won't be spending as much for a NSX as you would on a 911.
