wtf are these speed sensor hoses
Does anybody know what these lines on the speed sensor are for? The trans I am putting in the accord is an obd1(auto) and it's an obd2 car. This is the only thing between the two that does not match.
I have them looped right now because I assume it's just a fluid cooling portion for the sensor. When I took it out of the trans it does have a hole at the bottom where the gear is almost like it can suck up fluid.
This is the one that is on the old trans. I was going to swap them but the teeth are different, wouldn't match up.
When I spin the sensor, it does sound like there is a valve opening and closing in the OBD1 one, but not in the OBD2 one.

those would be power steering pressure hoses, when i did my bro's EF b18 ls swap we had the same thing on the VSS, i did the exact same thing looping it around. keeps the fluid sys close. doesn't hurt anything doing it either

the older accords had speed sensitive steering. depending on how fast you were going it would restrict/allow the flow of the power steering fluid thus reducing /increasing how much the wheels moved in proportion to the turn of the wheel. those hoses go to the rack.
make sense? lol.

What part is not meshing with the new transmission? just so you know, you don't need the entire speed sensor assembly with the drive that goes into the differential case.. the sensor itself is the part on top that comes apart with the 2 - 8mm bolts

I may swap the sensors but I may just see if this one works. Made quite a bit of progress too. Also the sensor is kinda in the asscrack of my engine bay at the moment haha. Got the new trans bolted up, torque converter is bolted up too. bout time to start the axles and whatnot. Probably won't work on it again until tuesday... I pray this second hand trans is not a broke ass pos.
