Water Pump and Timing Belt ??'s

I'm nearing 97k on my car, and i know i need to replace the water pump and timing belt. I'm gonna be giving my lube manager some cash on the side to change em out, is there anything else i should change out? I'm gonna help out a little bit, how hard is it to do it?

yeah, i would've changed the timing belt sooner, i'm at 68,000 miles right now, and getting a new timing belt this summer, shoulda done it last summer. and as for replacing them, my dad changes the water pump in a 92 honda civic, we had to take the timing belt off to do it, i bet they're pretty much the same mechanics, inline 4 SOHC, so i think it shouldn't be that hard for the cl, it would probably cost about 500- 700$ for the water pump and timing belt serice, but not sure, let me know how much it costs, i bet doing it by yourself will prolly cost like $100, save like 500 bucks with couple hours labor, even if it takes like 3-4 hours, still worth saving the 500$.

but you were talking about your lube manager, do you work there? if you do, i can imagine the great discount.

i thought it was about time to change the belt, when i drive, the rpms get up real high, like near redline. besides, don't you have to change it at like 80k anyways?

Sorry to bring this age old thread up, but I finally got it done today. I bought all the parts a while ago for $100, and got the work done for $150. So everything parts and labor ran me $250, out the door. Did the timing belt, balancer belt, and water pump. Oh, and when I first posted this thread, i had 97k. Today I have 132k
