unusual fan like noise?

I have a 99 3.0. after turning the car off with the hood propped open, I noticed a fan like noise coming from the firewall area? the car is completely off and this strange noise stays on for only a min or so?. is this normal?. thanks for your help!

uhh that would mean that you were driving your car really hard and the fan stayed on to cool it down? im not sure if cl's do that, but most cars do.

you know, that's odd...I was lowering my car some more about two weeks ago and noticed a brief intermediate buzz/humming after the car was completely off (it would buzz/humm for like 2 seconds...stop...then do it again at random intervals). I have no clue what it was....

i dont think he's referring to the fans though...i definitely know what the fans sound like when they're on after the car is off...but I've experienced the same 'buzzing' he has...it's weird.

The buzzing is most likely the abs module priming or unpriming itself, or the fuel pump, try turning your key to the second position without starting the car and see if you hear it, if you do it's probably the fuel pump

I get this too. When I turn the car off it sounds like a "PPSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH" like a compressed air leak then it just stops after a few seconds.

fuel pump... check! notice before car starts...normal.

abs module?. does it prime before start and unprime after the car is driven and completely shut off?...

thanks!
