The truth about certain suspension companies
some of you may know this, some of you may not have known about how many of these brands are made with crappy specs, and many may have no clue that most suspension companies are made in the same factory in Taiwan by the company Bor-chuann (BC for short and not to be confused with Buddy Club)

now what made me want to share this with you guys is because a person who posts on several automotive forums made a list on Honda-Tech. In that list my Tanabe Pro S-OC coilovers were mentioned. I quickly got on the defensive because i did my research before my purchase. Tanabe make their suspension products in Japan and teamed up with KYB for their dampers.
Here is a decent list I found of where certain companies make their suspensions. Tanabe are still listed which is misinformation, but for the most part the list is dead on. Im still researching where APEXi and GReddy make theirs. Function & Form and Blackworks should be listed on that list too for Taiwan.

i was going to post this in the suspension section but figured it would get more views in the main section. just wanted to spread awareness of where these brands are made. Bor-chuann are not a quality brand and make a horrible Showa replica. All these colorful brands we think are different are essentially the same coilover built with different spring rates and to horrible specs.
I have been researching this topic for weeks and have seen some nasty things happen as a result of these poorly made coilovers. I'm not trying to dissuade anyone from a buying certain brand suspension because i understand people are on a budget dont wanna spend $1200 on a set of KW coilovers. My point is to just spread some knowledge on the matter.
questions, concerns, or comments?

and I'm glad I have Neuspeed springs... ... Fahrvergnügen Mutter F%^&ers
btw, if you're going to buy Chinese, Tiawan makes better stuff in general. They have higher quality and work standards.

Yeah I'm kinda one of those who don't know very much about the outside of my car. But since the car is getting older I find my self having to worry about engine stuff and what not so I try to do as much research as I can before I say anything about that topic. As far as my suspension, I was planning on getting function & forms. Looks like ill be looking into some teins. Good thing I waited.

I'm not trying to say if you buy these Taiwanese made coilovers they're going to instantly fall apart (even though the BNIB F2's i sold to Paco99CL had issues right out of the box) but many of these brand coilovers have problems.
Not saying Tein is perfect either.
So far im very happy with my Tanabe's. Japanese made and were very affordable.

Indeed. Teins aren't even popular on the track because of their inferior sizing in the pistons and valving. And don't even bring up the Tein Flex, for the price there are always better options as the Teins are found to be useful only in their lowest (firmest)setting out of the 16 levels of adjustment because the damping is too soft for the spring rates.

They make a line for the 94-97 accord? I'm fond of German products lol.
