Tranny Clutch Pack Replace?
I remember a while ago someone posted a tutorial for replacing the clutch packs in the 3.0 transmission, i searched and can't find the thread, anybody know where it is? I wanna re-do mine because it is shifting hard.

I just found a site that sells rebuild packs and manuals on how to do them. Ever seen a diagram of our tranny though? Looks pretty messy...

Yeah True, but hey i'll post the tutorial and be the savior of all! A guy on the board did it in a weekend and it looked tough but not terrible. Plus a guy i went to HS with owns a great tranny shop down the road. Thanks for the link AD

that was me. it wasent as hard as i thought it would be. but getting the tranny out and getting the shaft bolts off sucked. thier on there like 180ft bls. which is alot. each one took over an hour to remove. and i weigh 240lbs. and can bench near 300. but all in all it wasnt too bad. and its not just as easy as replacing the clutch packs. (well it kind of is) as long as u dont have anything else going on in there. heres some pics i took durring my rebuild.

if ur going to do it id definatly get the acura service manual supplement. it has everything about the cl except for the 2.2 and 2.3 stuff. it has great pics and alot of instructions. some things u can go around like some special crap tools. anyways if u want links to all the stuff ull need hit me up.

its pretty heavy but u can only remove it from the bottom of the car. kind of a tight fit. i used 2 jacks to lower it to bout 6" from the ground then i just rolled it on to a 10" thick pad. but yea a cherry picker would help tons. at the time i just sold mine bout 5 months before i did the tranny. u could pick 1 up for bout 200$, and it would still save u $$$. then u could sell it again for 150$

Well mine is shifting hard right now but not slipping, should i just bite the bullet and do it? I think that it might last a while, but i have a baby coming in february and i won't have as much time around then (and it will be cold as hell in michigan).

i would just get it rebuilt. and put a tranny cooler on. the bulletproof ones are a waste of money unless ur running 150 shot of juice or turboed or something. the cooler will save ur tranny. it wont slip, it will shift hard into 2nd gear. ususally its caused by a bad pressure sensor.
