Alright, sounds good. I just wanted to make sure since the new CorSport bushings are aluminum, whereas the factory bushings are rubber. Looks like I'll be ordering the shifter bushings and the P-Spec short shifter soon. Thanks for the quick replies!

the aluminum bushings are made for short shifters, thats why i wanted to try it. i have a prelude shifter.

So i take it they still make the P-Spec short shifter for our cars? i was under the assumption that they quit making these a while ago from reading else wear on the forums. am i wrong? if so where can i get this at? thanx

Ok so ive got the airbox off and now im at the step where i have to unbolt the transmission housing brackets? can anyone point these out to me, it sayss its a key step so the lines wont get bent and whatnot...i just dont want to start unbolting the wrong thing. Any help would be awesome thanks!

after u remove the E - clip and Pin, u just slide everthing off. i didnt remove the trans housing bracket. the instructions are generic.

It seems like the Wire inside the rubber boot connecting to the bushing would bend, no? I juts figured i didnt want to fuck with it because it said it was a key step in order to prevent the lines from kinking.

lol. the wire thing is meant to be bent. its called a 'cotter pin'. dont be scared.

I know the cotter pins are meant to bend, but I was referring to the line next to it, here, i circled the parts that i'm talking about...where is the trannsmission housing, or is it even pictured???

Here are some pics i took on my phone when i was trying the install....I just noticed that i should prob clean my engine bay soon lol, everything's just becomign corroded or rusty.

the transmission housing isnt pictures. u know the rubber things that u circled; those thigs move. So when u take tha pin out, u slide the silver ring part toward the pin part (the pin that u took out by this time). So u slide the small ring up, and the big one toward the rear of the car.

ya know those stock bushings are in bad shape on ur car guiness. i just had an engine swap so they were really easy to take out. u might want to use some WD-40 or liquid wrench to make ur like a little easier.

LOL, tell me about it...it took me a solid half hour + a shitlaod of WD40 juts to get the rusted pin out...Thanks man, appreciate the help. After taking those out it's just a matter of installing the new ones correct? Thanks again!

Yea so the bushing wouldnt even fit on the shifter arm...I greased everything up more than three gay dudes and a hotel room, and it still wouldnt fit. I think i'll just contact corsport for the refund. I think it's the shifter pin more than anything.

well i was assuming that the side with the larger "lip" that basically lays ontop of the circle that ties into the shifter pin was the way to do it...the rubber bushing had both sides of equal lip but the metal bushing had one side with no lip and the other side with a lip and a line carved into it.

Anyone know how much a mechanic would charge to install these? Maybe i'll have him look at it ands ee what he thinks...i tried putting it in both ways with no luck and it was a bitch getting the rubber bushing out and then back in.

honestly if u took it to a shop, they might charge u for 1/2 hour of labor, which is rediculous..

I just put mine on yesterday. I had a problem with the inner hole on the smaller bushing being a tad too small, so I just wrapped some 400 grit sandpaper around a small screwdriver and sanded for about 30 minutes. It finally went on without a problem, but i actually had to unbolt the shift cable bracket (PITA) like the directions say .

but... totally worth it. Shifts are crisp and solid now

no all my transmission cables/bushings were really easy to manuever because of the engine swap. nothing was crusted on because i put the bushings in 1 week after the swap..

oh. My stuff wasnt crusted, I just had to take of the shifter cable bracket to be able to slip the bushing on, because it fit so tight that I couldnt slide it down if it wasnt 90 degrees to the post thing.
