Scrap Yards = Good Idea For Parts~?!?!
I got to thinking, im low on money (saving up for 17's and a drop) and ive got soo many pitts and scraps on my front hood and bumper...Anyone ever gone to a scrap yard and used car parts from their salvaged cars in the lots?? I'm thinkin about going to one and seeing if they have a bumper or hood for my CL...The colors should match shouldnt they? Did the BLACK color change any from 97 to 99??....Good idea or bad?!?
( plus while im there im going to grab another set of taillights and see of i can modify them)

I guess you could, but also check other salvage yards, like people who keep wrecked vehicles before they get to the salvage yards, you might fare better there.

How about HID's?????? Say i find a lexus or inifnity or audi (newer one) That has HIDs on it...will theose work for my car? Can i just take out the HIDS from a car and install them on mine or are there things i need to look for or special HIDs that only work on the cl???

Salvage yards and like toy stores for big kids.
Its important to check frequently though because you want to get at the car before they start taking it apart or decide to fix it and sell it whole. Also , if they just got the car in, you may be able to get the parts cheaper if you offer to take it apart yourself.
I've got a good buddy who works at one here in MD. They don't get a lot of CLs but I tell him whenever they get any or any V6 accords to let me know. You can never have enough spare parts. If anyone needs any parts, I can check what they have available.

i've bought a bunch of parts at scrap yards, but not for the CL, whenever i find a CL they want me to buy the whole front end, and won't sell me the hood and just headlights.

Well theres a place in KC called "You Wrench It" and you tell them the car/parts your looking for, they knwo what they have, and you go take it off the car yourself...then they sell it to you....ive heard its a good place with tons of cars that are all organised in rows and seprated from other car brands...i need to know about the HIDS though...can i just take them from any car and slap em on mine??? Will ANY kind of hids work??
PS: when i do go down there, i will take inventory on what they have...alot of you have spoken about no slavage yards in your area so if your looking for a part, i might be able to get it for you.
(i have friday the 25th off so i will probably go down there just to see what they have to offer me.
