I have installed remote starter in my car. Beautiful thing.

But DEFROST button is always off.
Does anybody know how to make it on?
(not manually of course )

Yeah I was actually thinking about getting an autostart too. Which one do you have? What are your initial thoughts?

I got PRESTIGE PLATINUM+ by AUDIOVOX. Model APS-785.

I have extra button on my remote (option), and I thought it should be possible to connect it to defrost switch. But I don't know where.


The buttons on my remote have different sequence.

I am also thinking about putting in an auto start. HOw much was it.

You put it in the AUX for the alarm right ???

Also can i use my factory remote, or can i somehow get a new one that does everything the factory did plus auto start.

not sure about the defroster, but i will have to worry about that when i get the autostart.

Ok, about the price. The system that I got cost ~$370. I was lucky they did not have the system I wanted initially to get, which was ~$260 (lower range, not so many features remote, etc.). So they give me $370 one for $269.

I am not sure what you are refering as AUXilary.

Here my buttons:

1. Left Upper (RED color) - LOCK
2. Right Upper (RED color) - UNLOCK
3. Left Lower (GREEN color) - Trunk/Egnition
4. Right Lower (BLACK color) - Option

Here how they work:
Button 1:
- single press LOCKing with beep sound
- holding for 3.5 sec Locking silently
Button 2:
- single press UNLOCKing with beep sound
- holding for 3.5 sec UNLocking silently
Button 3:
- double press starts the car
- holding for 3.5 sec Releases Trunk Lock
Button 4:
- not used.

And what's great is that it works with ACURA Security.

The range is 600-1000 feet, depends on interferance.
