i think i know what the problem is, but i just wanted to double check...story time

i was driving from virginia to new jersey today. i stopped off at a gas station to drop a load ( ) and when i left, the CEL came on. i checked fluids, gas cap, everything, continued to run fine. so i kept on driving. i was between DC and baltimore, in some traffic, so i dropped down to 2nd gear and she started to sputter upon acceleration. i was going ~35mph, so this was out of the ordinary. out of traffic, going about 70 in 5th. give it some gas to pass a guy and she starts sputtering again, again, not normal.

i'm pretty sure my car was bought in NJ new, which means it has a air-fuel sensor or something like that instead of an o2 sensor (damn you california emissions...) im guessing thats the problem. any ideas? i left it at my mechanic to have the codes pulled.

it was the o2 sensor, also replacing the air filter, and cleaning the throttle body.

Thanks,
It'll most likely work, you just wont be able to use the heating option unless you wire it in

I was able to install my HID Kit to my car, but it is bright and day during the night. I wanted to adjust them to point lower, but I don't see the screws...or maybe I'm looking at the wrong places. Anyone know how to adjust the headlights housing to point them lower? Thanks.

The adjustment screws are on the back side of the housing. There should be 1 set for vertical adjustment and 1 set for horizontal adjustment.

I'm gonna guess the top bolt is vertical and the bottom bolt is horizontal? Tried the top bolt, but I can't see any changes

it's been a while since I messed with them, but i believe they are down in a hole, that you need to stick a screw driver down, your owners manual should have step by step directions with pictures

Would a Type R front lip from a 94-97 accord fit a 1st gen CL?

Not without heavy modification, our bumpers have a curve into a point, the accords are straight

Alright so I got a AEM CAI V2 and installed it in my car, 2 things I'm concerned with:

1. I had a hard time shoving the filter part down into the wheel well (I have a K&N Filter on it since the AEM filter wouldn't fit inside the wheel well) Now its kinda just sitting on the plastic part of the well, is that normal?

2. I turned on the car and theres a loud humming noise, but when I accelerate, it sounds beautiful. Is the humming noise normal for the V2?

Yes, my CAI sits against the fender liner as well, and the hum is normal

Took the baby out, but noticed during low speeds I hear rattling where the cai is sitting. I'm guessing the filter is going crazy, but how do I delete that?

Anyone know how to takeout the mirror and the sun visors on both sides? I wanna put my Wink Mirror on, but I can't since the wire in the visors are in the way. Also trying to figure out how to take out the mirror. Thanks.

The mirror is simple, there's a plastic cover over the screws that pops off, then there's 3 screws holding the mirror. The visors, you can see the screws, just unscrew them and they should come down

What do I do about the wires on the visors? You know, since they're connected to enable the lights to light up...unless your suppose to just yank them out which I don't think I wanna do...I'll get to the mirror tomorrow. I tried popping it out on Friday, felt like I was gonna crack the plastic. ]:

That's up to you, but you can probably just tuck the wires up in the holes that they come out of. For the cover on the mirror screws, use a flathead to pop it off

I think you misunderstood, I was asking how do you disconnect the wire? I dont see any clips or anything to disconnect the wire.

I am planning on doing an auto to manual swap on 99 CL i already know what the parts are needed and what vehicle i can get it from (94-97 accord) but what i havent gotten an answer from is regarding the Transmission mount. ive searched the website and the basic answer was have the shop worry about it ..what do you guys do to make the manual tranny fit since the automatic is obviously larger.. ESP.net sells an auto to manual tranny mount for the 94-97 accord im assuming that would work perfect because our cars are based on that accord..

How come no one ever black house the corner lights in our headlights? Everyone always keeps it chromed? I'm kinda considering blacking mine out cause my masking tape kinda peeled some of the chrome off.

Plenty of people have blackhoused the frames inside the housings. It's a really easy task once the lights are apart. Most people just don't want to risk melting their lights by putting them in the oven...

I meant there the parking light sits... That part people mask it off when you black house your headlights...kinda wondering why. Lol.

He said he tinted it? I was talking about sanding that corner down and spray painting it.

Because they're a dealership, they make money on brakes, warranty work, and oil changes

What are you looking to weld?

Have there been any recent developments in aftermarket parts for the CL?

What ever happened to the upgraded lower control arms that were in the works about 1+ yrs ago?

My car has a rattle.

Seems to be coming from the exhaust.

Muffler isn't loose or anything like that. I haven't checked the rest of the pipes yet, but I don't really think anything else is loose. Especially considering the car was just in the shop for some other work.

The rattle comes in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, especially in lower RPMs. It doesn't really rattle in 4th or 5th.

Could something, like a small rock or something like that, be stuck in the muffler or pipes or anything? I haven't taken the car off any sort of pavement recently, but I do remember driving over some very small loose rocks on a road in New Brunswick.

I'm driving from NJ down to Savannah later this week, just wanna make sure this isn't gonna fuck me over in the middle of nowhere on 95.

Opinions greatly appreciated guys, thanks!

CEL came on today. Aside from the heat shield thing car ran really well on my 60 mile commute home. took it to pep boys to have the code read, fuel system running too lean...o2 sensor. the CEL came on a few months ago any my mechanic in VA told me the sensor was fine but the problem was the gas i was using. he said it should use premium but the manual says 86+ so he was obv wrong. so he reset the code and told me to run a few tanks of non-ethanol gas and that should clear it up. did that, car was fine. car still runs fine, and the guy at pep boys told me to fill it up with plus to clean it out (?) so i did that.

does any of that make to anyone?

Sounds like a bandaide fix, but I only ever ran premium in my CL since I got it in 03 so I can't talk to the effects of using crappier gas. But sounds like something else is failing.
