i'll start it off I guess.

Does anyone know if there is a manual steering rack of any other honda that us members w/deleted power steering could use instead of the power rack? Or is that impossible unless custom made?

Anhedonia 06-24-2009 01:31 PM

^ after doing some looking into that.. my best guess would be to try and find an accord one from the pre-power steering days. i think an 87 and below should do the trick if what i was looking at is correct. what i couldnt find is if there was ever an F/H that had non power steering.

For a CAI, what size inlet should the filter have to attach to the pipe? I need to know so I can order the K&N along with the ebay intake. Thought I asked before, but not sure.

It should be 3"

It doesn't say anywhere on the ebay page?

shnee 06-24-2009 04:09 PM

They make them in all different sizes. Be careful, I was about to order a filter for my pipe, but decided to double check it to be sure. It was 2.5", not 3" like I assumed. If you're ordering the pipe and filter from different places, make sure it lists how big it is in the description.

mitch14 06-24-2009 07:51 PM

how do you know if your clutch is going? is there certain thigs to watch for... i think mine is the original or the 2nd only

Mike86 06-24-2009 07:55 PM

the main sign is slippage, and the easiest way to test for it is to apply the brakes in 2nd or 3rd gear at around 3k rpm and floor it but push on the brakes to the point of slowing the car down and lowering the rpms, and if the rpms raise then it's slipping and on it's way out.

Another possible sign would be if it chatters alot upon taking off

Oh btw I'm on the original clutch at 155k miles and still smooth with no slippage

TopGunEV 06-24-2009 08:34 PM

Is the inlet size on our throttle body 3 inches, and is there a power difference when getting a 2.5 inch intake opposed to a 3 inch? I KNOW MORE COLD AIR IS BETTER.

irresponsiblekid 06-24-2009 09:07 PM

what distributor & ecu should I look for for the non-starting jdm f22b swap in my car currently? lack of CPS down low under the timing belt cover tells me the block is obd1...

and can I mod / hack the wiring on my CL dizzy? if so, how?

Gnate 06-25-2009 12:25 AM

^ Hit up a tuner shop I bet they could help you out

I believe the Tb on a 3.0 is 3" I have a 2.75" CAI tube on mine with a 2.75" filter and bypass valve, 2.75 is pretty standard for our engine

shnee 06-25-2009 03:07 PM

Maybe I meant 2.75, not 2.5. This was a while ago

TopGunEV 06-25-2009 03:37 PM

OK Sounds good, so if I order a AEM v2 for our car, it is recommended to say f--- it to the aem filter that comes with it and just by a K/N 2.75 in Cone to prevent hissing. I'm having that go on right now and cleaning it didn't help. Sounds like a mini turbo lol...+15 HP

97BlackAckCL 06-25-2009 03:39 PM

AEM V2 is a waste, just get an ebay intake and put a k&n filter on it

Gnate 06-25-2009 04:23 PM

Best advice you'lll ever get in regards to cold air intakes. (not kidding)

If you spent $100+ on an aem or injen you'd really regret it later once you realized that all of the piping is exactly identical to that of ebay. It is the filter that matters.

irresponsiblekid 06-25-2009 05:52 PM

what's the stock 2.2 ECU and can / do I need to flash it to p39 to match my jdm f22b

I think i need to convert to obd1 does that mean new ECU automatically?

yeah depending on what wheel size. 16x8?

Yes, you need a filter that has a 6" opening. If you want a K&N filter, BPi offers the velocity stack and filter together. Personally, I was looking into dryflow filters. I'm sick of this oiling shit.

Yes, but it will be quite a bit smaller in overall diameter and will look dumb without a substantial drop, and even then I'm not sure it will look good.

And that tire would fit a 16x8 or 16x7 wheel, and it would even fit the stock 16x6 but it's a bit of a stretch, I've put 225 series on 16x6 before though and ran them for thousands of miles with no problems. In fact, I think someone on here is running 225/50/16s I believe on stockies, can't remember who though.

A good size for calculating tire diameters between different sizes is:

Do they ever rub when cornering or anything? I'm looking at buying some used rims on 225/40/18s from a guy if he's still got them, but I'm not dropped (yet)

spencer_homer 06-26-2009 09:15 PM

no not really. ive got mm of clearance. but ive got 2.2 f 2.0 r but its used and i think its sagging lower than that

I heard they are bouncy as f*ck. Well, their coilovers anyway.

^ Grabbed that from that guys thread about having $500 to spend on his Cl, you were talking about energy suspension bushings...

Do yours still squeak like CRAZY? Or do you think I just need to lube them up more? Because it sounds really bad when I go over bumps.

My PU bushings never squeaked, and my car has sat for a couple years since putting them on there, I would say lube them more

Dicorp 06-28-2009 12:46 AM

avoid Skunk2 springs. very bouncy and uncomfortable ride.

My bushing kit came with a tub of lube to put on the bushings, i would think yours did too cuz that would be the best. If not id use bearing grease, that would probably work well
