I just replaced my clutch master and slave cylinders on my car. I filled the system up with brake fluid after the change and bled it like a brake system. Everything worked fine until last night when the Clutch when straight to the floor when i pressed it and I was stuck in 2nd. I went home and started to investigate the problem. I re-bled the system and now I’m just getting air bubbles constantly. The system holds pressure; I did an air pressure test on it. But I’ve run 4 cans of DOT3 brake fluid thru the system and I’m still getting tons of little air bubbles coming out...........what did I do wrong!??!?!

I have double checked all connections and I am 100% positive I have no leaks and all my connections are tight.

but you need to make sure that you positivelt have no leaks. the fluid serves as volume within the system. if you are losing pressure you are losing volume.

Are both parts new or rebuilt? I strongly suspect you got a defective part. It takes so little air getting past a seal to make them malfunction and almost impossible to detect.
Clutch is like the brakes, change the fluid every two years to keep them healthy.

There has to be an air leak allowing air to be pulled in during "suction" phase when clutch master cylinder is returing after a pump action. If you are absolutely sure of all connections, then a cracked tubing or flexible hose seems likely. A defective clutch or master cylinder might allow air to enter during subambient (< 1 bar pressure) "suction" conditions and not leak under pressure. Master cylinder would be more likely. Never heard of this but is possible.

check behind your peddal and see if the master cylinder is leaking into the car. the fluid is going somewhere. unless your pumping you all your fluid. try and tighten the bleed port, then leave the cap off the resuvoir, and pump like mad for 5 minutes. see if your pedal feels normal after that. if your not bleeding it right you will suck air back into the line once you release the pedal.. what you want to do is: open the bleed port, press the pedal, close the bleed port, release the pedal.. repeat until you get air free fluid.. dont just open the bleed port and start pumpin thats totally wrong.

Yea, so it turns out the NEW master cylinder that autozone sold me was bad, i took it back and exchanged it for another one, and everything is working fine. Thanks for the help guys!
