Poping sound

I noticed this popping sound that happens when I turn the wheel all the way to the left. Has anybody experienced this also?

Nope the only thing that happens when I turn my wheel to the left is that when I'm trying to increase the volume, the stations will change! But that's another topic...

I agree. This is a problem with front-wheel drive cars. After a while (I don't know how many thousands of miles) you get that CV joint problem. I believe it gets all dirty or something and they start losing its lubrication.

I tried to listen for that sound the other day and nothing yet (knock on wood). I don't have anywhere near 30,000 miles yet so let's all pray that it doesn't happen then.

sorry to bring back an old thread but I am having the exact same problem and it's only when I turn left. This is the only thread I found that would be of any help but it wasn't...so is it the ball joints?

I was just under the car not too long ago changing my oil and I didn't see any tears on my CV boot or grease anywhere. I changed the cv boot on my lexus 2 yrs back and it's not the same ticking sound that my lex made. It'll tick once after 1/2 rotation and then it'll tick again on another 1/2 rotation. I'll go check it out again though.

any input would be greatly appreciated

The boots are fine... My question is considering it is the ball joints how much am I looking at spending? is it hard to do? any recalls on them? has anyone else had this problem?

after searching the forums someone posted a recall list but my car doesn't fall under that list of vin's.

Woody, I have the same thing, I also have it when moving slowly from a stop. I've checked everything multiple times. I've replaced both axles, tightened up everything, replace numerous bushings, etc.

There are a few of us here who actually have it

Thats odd. From the description i would have thought for sure that it was the CV's.... The outers ones(next to your tire) rip and all the grease splatters all over your rim then eventually it will dry up and you hear them clanking together when you turn the wheel and go around a turn.

Is it like a click, click, click, click...Like a constant click until you are going straight or is it a just like 2 or 3 cluncks?

That's what I would of assumed as well. It's more of a "POP" then anything for me. I've even been so bothered i've taken it to Acura 2x's, had 3 or 4 different friends at shops look at it as well.

What is the reason for this notice?
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has determined that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Acura automobiles. Some vehicles were manufactured with front suspension lower ball joints tht may prematurely wear out. In the worst case, the ball joint would separate without prior warning, causing the front suspension to collapse. The condition would result in vehicle deceleration and a sudden loss of power. Also, steering controllability would be reduced, and a vehicle crash could occur.

What should you do?
Call any authorized Acura automobile dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle repaired. They will replace the front lower ball joints. This repair will be done free of charge. Parts are now available. The repair takes about two hours, but please plan to leave your vehicle at the dealer all day to allow them scheduling flexibility.

I know what your saying about the constant clicking with a ripped boot...but it's more like 2 or 3 pops when I turn left even if I'm not moving. My outer boot is fine it has no rips or tears I don't see any grease splatters anywhere.
