40 will be safer but depending how far your talkin about dropin your car, you might want to go with 35, I have to get 35, or they might be 30, but I havent had any problems and it helps in the droping process

with a 2 in drop, you can go with the 40s, I did look and I have 35's and I like them, pretty thin, but I think they look good, but Im scared of binding my rim or somthing, but Ive had no prob yet, but its really your call, they'll both work, its just what do you want!!

i would go for 40s. they ride a lil better and protects ur rims. I think they also look better. 35s IMO look too thin. kinda like 10 speed bicycle tires

35's are easier to damage the tire and rim i got to get another tire now because of a stupid pothole if i wasnt going for the ultimate low i would do the 40's

Man, I had 215/45-17s and hit a pothole and still broke both rims that hit it. Although I got some of the money back for them and exchanged them for others. But, the moral is that any aftermarket wheels will probably be damaged by a pothole (unless you run 205/55-16s)
