Nicest Unexpected Feature on Your CL
Okay, as a complement to my previous post about little annoyances, I'm wondering what things you found about your CL, maybe years after you bought it, that made you say, "Wow! That's pretty cool!" An example would be that strap under the center armrest that some people apparently use to hold cigarettes (I sometimes put my sunglasses in there).
For me, it's the cassette deck. I usually listen to CDs or the CD changer, and I usually crank up the volume. The next time I start the car the music comes blasting out at me (funny, doesn't seem that loud after driving!), so I've learned to turn down the volume before I shut off the car. One time when listening to a tape I forgot to turn down the volume, and the next time I started the car the music started soft and then (over a couple of seconds) faded up to normal volume. What a difference! What a cool feature!

I really like the strap under the armrest...perfect for hiding the occasional...well never mind . I love the fact that if i have my headlights turned on and forget it reminds me b4 i get out. Come on I used to own a 91 toyota pickup, these little things make me happy.

Where is this strap you guys are talking about? I would have to say that I really like the driver seat feature. When you are putting something (or someone) in the back seat. It electronically puts itself all the way to the front, and then returns itself to the existing seating position. Pretty cool feature. I would also say that the moonroof is an good feature, I have not had with previous cars.

Dang, i must not have the seat forward electric feature cause I have a 2.2
I like the moonroof. Not that it was a surprise but I like it anyway.
I like how the car beeps when i have the keys in the ignition and I open the door. I never get tired of that sound even when i'm cleaning the interior with the radio on....
(just messin)

No, Nomad, why IS the beeping specific to our cars?
And the little strap is on the underside of the center armrest. Lift it up and look under the leather-covered piece you just lifted. It's an elastic piece that goes across, letting you strap stuff to the hinged part.

I have had my CL (97 3.0 prem,Black)since Feb01.I am still finding cool features about this car.The superb performance it gives me blows me away!.The only thing i had to have done so far is drain the A/C pipe.I also had the rotors re-surfaced.I love the Engine and how it is laid out.It is very user friendly, not like some other cars.
I grow more attached to it every week!

hey guys-- for me it was the reserve power feature.. I had no idea we had it... if you turn off the car, AS LONG AS YOU DONT CRACK A DOOR, all the electronics still work (windows, sunroof, etc.) try it! its nifty! *lol*

I like the automatic door locking feature. If you unlock the door and wait a couple of minutes before opening it, the car will lock itself. I guess if you unlock the door by accident, that is a great safety feature.

I only have two beeps.
Am I defective?
Oh yeah, and some of you mentioned the power; when I was buying this car, I had a choice between this one and a 97 3.2 TL (the old body style). I test-drove the TL first, and it was really nice, had a lot of luxury accoutrements, etc, but then I got into my CL, and just TAPPED the gas, and it was like, VROOM... it just shot forward; the pickup was unbelievably better than the TL, it felt lighter, more responsive, and it was a prettier blue color.
So yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised by the power behind our lil VTEC V6.

I like the heated seats and mirrors, pretty good here in cold NY during the winter season.
I also like the auto door locking feature. You open the door and go to the trunk instead and you don't have to worry about closing the doors again!
The most surprising feature was the electronics working after shutting off the car. I was in my car once and turned it off and just checked to see if the window would still roll down and sure enough it did! That was a neat surprise....

Yeah thats pretty cool i think you have ten minutes of power before it stops working. I would be really cool if the radio stayed on as well like some newer cars. Oh the elastic strap is kinda neat too. Thats the first thing I thought of when i read this post's title.

I never even knew about the tilt feature on the moonroof till like a month after I bought my car, i was closing it one day and it just tilted up, then I looked closely at the little "icon" on the moonroof switch and I see the roof tilted in the little picture.
I also love the heated seats... very nice on the cold mornings going to work!!
...and I gotta love the variable intermitent wipers...
Wait, I love the whole car!!!

Another cool feature i noticed about my 3.0 cl prem. The CD player automatically inserts the CD back into the player(instead of the Cd hanging out of the player)without turning off the radio and playing the CD.A nice touch!

If you take out the plastic piece (with two holes for letting light through) behind the lens of the front interior "reading" lights, you get a much nicer/modern look from the lens and more illumination!
