New guy

Good day,

Name is Kenny, I just purchased a 97 CL 2.2 and am in process of doing maintenance and then on to enjoying this little beast.

Sorry about the cell phone pics, haven't really taken any pics of it yet with the SLR.

Basic info, base model with 5 speed, untouched, slight body damage, non smoker. Has an oil leak on the valve cover near the dizzy, will check dizzy oring and such when I do the repair.

Of course the passenger side window is not working, and the AC pump is dying, so a couple hundred in parts and we should be on our way in those departments.

Have a 92 civic with y8 motor that was daily but have taken off the road to make into....I don't know a reliable fun weekend car. Or garbage we shall see.

Have rebuilt it from the ground up and now get to learn about wiring. So for now this car is to be stock-ish and kept running so I can fix my other beast.

Thanks, this place looks like another forum I am a member on, we should get along swimmingly.

Cheers,

Whoshot, aka Angeloah, aka Kenny

Thanks.

Not sure what I am going to do with it. This is all new to me. Spent time under my Volvo v40 before realizing it needed to go and got my wife an Odyssey and got me the civic.

This is nicer and has more low down power then my civic, I like it for a daily commuter. Need to fix the little issues then future is open, I always explore the chassis and make changes and try and fix them before moving on. It is how I learned what little I know about repairing cars.

Tune up time, looked like factory distributor, wires etc. Fresh plugs, wires, cap and rotor, tires, distributor o-ring...looks like it may need a rear main seal, but all things in time.

Already looking for hubs and such to get the brakes up front set up better.

Still like it a week later so I think I may keep it for a time. Joined this site to surf the articles written up back in the day on this car, seems most have moved on, I will keep the fires burning even if only so I may stay warm.
