My build thread
I've had my 97 2.2CL since 03 when i bought it to actually drive me around. Intent hasn't really changed except the fact that now i intend to do it under extreme conditions. For those who don't know me, I've been working on the CL for a long time now. Last thing completed was a fully built head and now I intend to complete my bottom end and misc to make one of the most powerful and unique Acura CLs ever built. Here are a few pictures in a timeline.
Props to Chris!!! Probably the only other H CL on here.
Then I got married. Bought my wife a car. Moved out and things slowed down but now they are back because I intend to finish this decade long build this year. Engine is now put together and cosmetic bay work will happen soon.
Custom transmission gears are 2 weeks out and tranny was just taken all apart. Kinda excited because this is the first time I ever take the transmission apart. Im not listing the mods because there are just to many.
Cleaned up and deciding whether to get a new case or keep it.

Its not a ball bearing turbo but a thrust bearing. More reliable and ill have a more gradual powerband. With the ball bearing ill be making too much too fast losing traction and posibly destroying my tranny. No honda tranny works to well with a 3000+ lb. I havent gone with a dogset considering ill be doing mostly street driving but with a straight cut sychro set. Yes synchro

Must be Nice with the h22 in it, I have read a lot of threads on the H22 install is there one thread that you would recommend to read that would have more info than some of the fragmented threads that are incomplete.
thanks

I would do it myself, I am not a newbe around cars been fooling with them since I was 14, now I am 56 old fart
But I like this car, and since it was free and is in fair/good shape I think it would be a cool project.
thanks pat

If you look for a guide online you should get a pretty good idea on what to do. The rest of the details you can ask around. Shouldnt be too bad. Good luck

First off transmissions are nerve racking but I did learn a lot.
Slight machine shop fitment on 3rd and 4th gear collar for proper fitment on counter shaft.
The blow was when my 5th wouldnt properly allign with mating parts. Found out I got a 5th on input shaft for a civic. I should have replacement within 2 weeks.
Progress slowly but surely. I will have the car in my garage before July. I will finish the rest myself.

Man, I can't wait to see this thing run lol. My turbo plans are on hold unfortunately, or else I'd tell you to ship me the tranny so I could test it for you LOL
