That makes 2 of us lol. Car is in PA still, and I'm in FL. It's actually pretty much finished, I just need the time and money to bring it down. I've been making vids with my DD in the meantime to keep me busy lol.

I already got a shipping quote and whatnot, I just need to come up with the cash for it lol. The car runs, brake booster fixed, seized front caliper replaced. Needs to be tuned.

So I posted this pic on FB:
And my friend whom I used to live with and went to tech school with left a pretty nice comment which brought back memories of driving around w/him
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, so I did both LOL. I want my car back!

Sooooo...Operation: Get Claudia was literally a long, arduous journey but she has officially been rescued!
For the past month my G/F has sent certified mail, emails, and phonecalls to this shop to let them know the car was being picked up since they were avoiding me. Eventually they caved, but gave me some outrageous bill for all the combined work and machine shop costs, etc . I was not having that, so eventually I agreed to pay for the machine shop work and whatever other parts were necessary to get the car back together to be operable to transport and not pay any labor or storage fees since after all it's their fault the damn car was there so long.
When I arrived, this is what I saw.
You'd think they'd clean the damn car for 6k in repairs right? Wrong. Basically it was a dirty hackjob to get the car running to go on and off the truck. Turned the car on, its idling like shit and I'm told that they never seated the piston rings so they're sticking, so they need to add oil and whatnot, run the car and check compression to make sure cylinders 1 and 2 come back to life, which makes me IRATE. But the process does seem to be working so whatever, she's coming home. Pay my bill, get the car loaded up on the truck and send her home
Back home where she belongs
I've still got a long way to go as the car is filthy, not running completely right and has some hacking I need to undo, but at least the process is started!

It's stories like this that discourage me from doing a swap or letting a shop take possession of my car

Thanks!
The cams and valvetrain were never installed, and the bottom end was never ran consistently to seat the rings. I have to clean her up inside and out, redo/reroute some wiring since they messed up my wire tuck, install some missing nuts and bolts, fix the sticking ring issue, and get her tuned. Then I can get her registered and insured and on to phase 2, making it race car worthy.

Don't let this discourage you, it happened to me because I never did my research before handing my car over. Had I did my research I'd have known that although the owner knew Hondas, he never had the time, manpower or equipment to complete what I wanted in a timely fashion. Lesson learned. It also helps that I'm now knowledgeable enough to do my own work from now on.
Thanks!

Been spending most of my time here trying to figure out this combustion issue. Cyl's 3 & 4 have combustion but 1 & 2 dont. Compression has come all the way back up in 2 and almost all the way on 1 but still nothing
1 and 2 look like this even after running the car.
3 and 4 look like this.
Got a spark tester to try to see if the cap, wires, or distributor are at fault or if I have a bigger issue.

Ground the 1st and 2nd plug while leaving 3and 4 unplugged. Dont shock yourself. It has to be electrical. Your plugs look too clean to run lean. Im sure its not serious.

While I waited, I took the distributor apart to inspect for my spark issue, found some interesting results.
Old vs New rotor
That old rotor was horrendous , and the cap lead points weren't the best either. Installed a new cap and rotor and reassembled the rest of the car to wait for a battery, hopefully this solves my issue and I can have her running so that I can concentrate on putting my M3 back together

Shops in general suck. Good ones are hard to come by. Most people I know go there and work on their car themselves. They practically live there. My shop did a shitty job. I entrusted the head guy with my car, he has been working on it for nearly 8 years now. One day he decided not to work on cars anymore. Just a shit show. As Chris said. In the end we know so much more that we can just do the whole thing ourselves... finding the time is a totally diff story
