How to prevent long-term park battery drain?

My 1997 CL 3.0 often sits for extended periods of time and the battery dies. Does anyone know if it is possible to simply pull one or more fuses and which to prevent this? If not, any other ideas than starting it periodically? Thank you.

I leave the battery in the car disconnected and place plastic caps on my terminals. My car sits for months/years at a time.
