How long did your original AcDelco battery last?

I was listening to my stereo last night while working on the car and it drained the battery in about 45 mins. My car is almost 48 months old. The battery took a charge last night and started fine this morning. So it seems ok.

But, is my battery on the verge of dying?

How long did yours last?

Thanks!

The dealer was too lazy to change mine. I just changed mine recently. It was the orginal battery from 1998. hahaha who really knows how old it was.

Well guys, the sucker died on me while I was driving.:thumbsdn:

Had the 1 kilowatt system cranking while idling in traffic. It was wild the amp for the front speakers and the head unit were cutting on and off as the voltage dropped. Thought my system was screwed. Then the car just died. Had to push it into parking lot.

Also have a AEM underdrive pulley on the alt.

Man you are just raping your battery. underdrive + a system is terrible on your battery. You had best not buy any kind of cheep battery or you'll drain it in a week.

i'd go with a yellow top for the amount of abuse you are putting on it.

my battery has some acidic deposits at the connection with the wire connecting to my system. does that mean that my battery is going? i have a 1200w amp and 3 8" JLs.

Once your battery is starting to corode it doesn't neccassarily mean its dying. I would get a new one just because the connection isn't really reliable and it is certainly a sign that the battery is getting old. Get a new one just to be on the safe side, especially with a big amp like that.

Yeah, got the yellow top. So far so good.

Thinking about getting the unorthodox racing alt pulley. Don't think that one is an under drive, just lighter at the stock size.
