Heat molding acrylic????

Hey everybody. Ive got a question someone might be able to answer. Ive bought a 1997 accord rear window visor in hopes that it would be close to fitting my 97 CL. Its nowhere close. i do see a way of making it fit if i can soften and slowly mold it with a heat gun. Is this at all possible? I know how to polish acrylic, I just don't know if this is a disaster waiting to happen. If there is little chance I would like to just sell it on ebay and keep my 40 bucks instead of destroying it.

Should have just bought the one I sent you the link to

I know that the polyurethayne if left out in the sun becomes more pliable, not sure about acrylic, you def could try a heat gun, but I'd just buy the right one.

You can, just take it very slow and make sure you are forming it over a very clean surface. Very easy to burn or bubble it depending on thickness. It doesn't take much heat to make acrylic pliable. Depends how confident you are.

For a complex curve like the rear window, it's probably not worth the effort. Just buy one that fits.
