Engine and transmissiom Swap 97 Acura cl 3.0 from 98 acura cl

Code P0700 and P1791 came up and a D4 flashing light. Odometer not moving or speedometer

i did an engine and transmission swap on a 97 Acura Cl 3.0, i put the engine and transmission of a 98 acura cl 3.0 everything is plug and play but i noticed that the rear Speed Sensor does not come in the 98 acura cl.

the engine starts and transmission shifts but after driving it i pulled the same check engine light codes as you did and my D4 shifting lights was flashing. For sure i know that the vehicle i pulled the engime and transmission from was working properly. I didn't know that the speed sensor behind in the rear wall did not come with.

Now I'm thinking of replacing the ECU thinking that there is an electrical issue. The 97 acura cl has two units One is the brain and the othe other a transmission control unit! could that be the issue? the 98 acura cl has just one ECU and it seems to also control the transmission. I nees help, i want to get this car going soon

The 98's have the imobilizer in the ignition that's tied to the ECU, you'll probably have to swap the ignition over as well.

transmission issue

i will do that, i changed the ignition but not all the hardness, there is a top plug that the 97 hardness does not come with. i will check to see if i can get all the hardness switch from the ignition. i will switch the computers hoping the plugs have same functions. i will update, thanks for the guidness

At the end I had the 97 acura cl transmission rebuild and i took out the 98 acura cl transmission, i had to cuange the hardness that runs at the engine and chaged it back to the 97 acura cl original hardness so that computers could independently read the transmission sensor. it gets expensive but now everything seems to be in good working condition. So the vehicle has a 98 acura cl engine with thr engine hardness of the 97 acura cl and its original rebuild 97 acura cl transmission
