DRL(daytime running lights) FIX

Just to let u all know,i pulled out the DRL module, opened it up,and took out the circuit board. There are about 50 small solders on the back which were all fine, then there are 8 larger solder points which cause the problem, the solder at these points were cracked, just look at the circuit board under a good light or use a magnifing glass and you'll see the cracks. I re-soldered these cracked solder points, installed the board back into its casing and plugged it back in. Works perfectly now. Sorry i have no pics cause i have no digi-cam, but for anyone with this problem its very easy to fix, took me 15 minutes and i saved $140 plus taxes CDN.which made me really happy

What do you have to do, to get at this part? Does it take a long time?

As i said before i don't have a digi-cam, sorry no pics, but to get the unit out lie down with your head toward the gas pedal facing up, shine a flashlight up behind steering colom, the unit is a grey box about 3 inches by 3 inches and about 1 inch thick,( says DRL on unit itself, but you won't see that until u take the unit out) the power plug that goes to it is blue, to get the unit out u have to slide it upwards off the bracket and then unplug it.

Old thread but i was messing with my CL for a few hours and i did not want to admit the DRL died but it did. So i stumbled across this post and i resoldered 8 points where the relays connect to the board and boom she works. Acura wated $176 for this and there is no way i was gonna spend that.

Some pics

Great post and timely as mine quit about six months ago, they were intermittent and finally quit altogether. Directions were perfect and repair works GREAT. THANKS A LOT.
