Dont Kill Me Guys
Hey, I know that I will probably be strung up for asking this question, but I have to know. My wife recently told me that we are having a baby, and i am fighting to keep my '97 3.0 CL. So, I gotta know: What kind of car seats can fit in a CL that will not hit the front seats? That is what the law calls for, and I need help finding one, without taking them all out into the parking lot and trying them out. I know that a baby seat is not the most technical, tricked out option you can put in a CL, but in this case, it is a necessary one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

not quite
I went and tried the seat from the "travel system" we picked out, and it hits the back of the passenger seat with it pushed all the way forward. That one is by evenflo, I think. I just need one that doesn't do that, because NC flaw does not allo a rear-facing car seat to touch the front seats. Thanks for the help... for whoever can provide it.

Right.
I never had the rear facing seat in the CL, but it fit fine in my wife's old '93 Accord.
Using the same setup, I think the rear-facing child seat will hit the front seats in the CL (unless you had them pulled up towards the dash real far).

Haha, This is why I bought the wife a Honda Odyssey, so I could keep my CL. Babyseats aren't that hard to get in on the passenger side, that seat goes up farther. If the kids is under a year old by law in MD they have to face backwards.

I dont think the law about facing backwards has to due with them trying to fuck with you. It is has to do with the safety of the child. Their necks aren't that strong for the first year, and they are more likely to be injured (IE: whiplash) if the are facing forward in an accident.

Dude, shouldn't be much of a problem! I didn't even think of that when I was choosin' a car seat for my son!...and I have an Eclipse! Ofcourse, we mostly used my girl's Maxima at the time, but I fit the car seat in the Mitsu alot!
You'll be alright, not a big deal! As long as the baby's comfy, that's what should count!

I'm not that old either. Just started hovering at 29...lol. I am from Greensboro originally, but now I am in Chapel Hill, btw.. as a grad student, for whoever asked that question.
The baby will be in the wife's Accord most of the time, we may just put the seat in my car and let it touch the back in the rare times it has to go in my car.

I had one by Graco and it worked fine it would only hit the seat when I would lean it back, but when it was straight up it would not touch no matter how far foward or back it was.
