I debadged my trunk this weekend but failed. Got everything off all the sticky stuff but the letters appear to be imprinted in my trunk. I posted in the wash and wax section but no reply. I was hoping someone here could help me out. Thanks.

I did buff it. Almost to the point where i was in clear coat. I tried rubbing compound by hand and with a buffing wheel. What kind of pad did you buff yours with?

thanks for the help but its in the paint itself. not on the surface. is there a specific pad i could us for more cutting action?

same happen on mine about 6 months ago..tried everything to cleaners and degreasers along with buffing it out. still no luck..just gonna either deal with it even tho it looks retarted or i'm getting the trunk repainted along with some other things..

Welcome to the "pitting" club bro..
Unfortunately there is no way to "fix" pitting unless you repaint.
Touch up paint will help but it will only go so far.

Nah man, you are going to need alot more than just buffing and wetsanding. It's going to need fresh paint to fill it in.

have you tried compound? same shit when I debaged,compound took that and some minor scratches right out.........

^this seems like one of the most extreme steps, if this doesn't take it out, i'd say just get it repainted...
I used compound&polish applied by hand on my last car to get rid of a 4 foot long key mark, so i dunno why your stuff ain't coming off

YOu can also get an orange pad and some medium cut compound and buff the shit out of it to get anything that's right, or just get your trunk repainted

Sorry to say, but an orange pad or professional compound is not fixing that. There is nothing to take off. It's pitted. No paint.

i'm so fed up with the way my trunk looks i'm getting mine repainted! got a front lip to do anyways also gf's mom backed into my front bumper and gf got rear ended in my car and also a small hit and run on the passenger side..man thinking back luck is just not on my side..all for $1100 i got quoted for, anyone know if that's any good?
Cliff notes:
repainting front/rear bumper, trunk, passenger side (from rear tire to door), and picked up front lip to get repainted. all for $1100.

I had my buddy's dad buff my car and he made the ghosting disappear. I didn't have paint pitting though, cuz I was careful as hell scraping the glue off, using a heat gun and an old credit card

haha i used a hot day and a cd, jammed that bitch inbetween and went at. surprisingly the cd didnt screw up my paint. then again, it was already pretty bad. haha

yep. wetsanding all the way. go to walmart and buy 3M 1000 and 2000 wet/dry sandpaper and small bottle of 3M rubbing compound. soak the paper in a bucket of clean water for a few minutes and wet the trunk where you'll be sanding. Start with 2000 grit and lightly sand the area where the emblems were until the scratches disappear. If 2000 doesn't work, go to 1000 then back to 2000 once they're gone. Then take the 3M rubbing compound and machine buff at low speed untilthe area until its shiny again. Use a polishing compound or swirl mark remover after that, then wax. whatever you do, do not build up heat on the paint, or you will burn it then a repaint is the only option.

You would be surprised what how great the factory paint from Honda is.. it can take a beating and come back like new with a little finesse. My CL was completely trashed with scratches and weird paint discolorations when I bought it. Wetsanding and buffing removed about 95% of it. You can't help the deep stuff unless you fill with touch up paint, then do the wetsanding process, but that emblem pitting doesn't look like it made it to the base coat. Just looks like white residue that might have dug into the clear a lil bit.
