I got gifts today... Here are some pics of everything when I got it:

Bravox Audio ESX6 mids (sound amazing, btw)

Spacer rings so that I can have my 6.5 polks in the doors (well worth the extra effort)

Phoenix Gold RSD passive crossovers that will likely be installed on Friday. The top end of the mids is killing me right now. I got rid of tweeters in the rear deck so that I wouldn't have higher frequencies coming from behind me... That idea failed miserably with the Bravox mids... They're only rated to play up to 5500Hz, but they play much much higher... Awesome speakers.

what do you mean by inside? where it mounts to the trunk? i am thinkin of either using a regular slot port sub back port back. Or maybe sub back port foward through the ski hole, but I know nothing about aeros, so im in the dark there

def use the ski hole, that's the loudest I would get my music, by inside, I mean I had to put dynamat foam inside the center support of the spoiler

Post a thread on CACO... But I think you'd be able to fit 2 6" aeros coming out of the back of the box and either up to or through the ski pass... That should give you enough area, but I'd check on CACO first... And, there's also a possible group buy going for deadener and it'll be dirt cheap if they get the deal everyone's shooting for...

Well a little update on the build my amp will be here mon, sub here tue, and hopefully box built mon except for the speaker cut out area. It's 5.6 cubes before sub and port displacement It should be around 5 or sao cubes after port and sub( I think I''m not good with those calcs). So I am going to use 4 4" pvc pipes up front(if i dont like it ill re build it eh) and sub firing back. I will hjave 3 cut for daily tuning 12" long for 36 hz. And the 4th will be cut at 8" and plugged until it's spl time. Luckly my old boss is going to let me use his shop they have a huge table saw and all the good stuff there. Will post pics when it's time to work. I'm taking the front plate and my pvc to work tonight and having my maint guys help me cut out the port holes.

Why are you adding port area/volume when you want more SPL? That would lower the tuning... Most of the time, you'd want to raise the tuning so you're closer to the peak frequency of the vehicle... This would mean plugging one of your 3 ports... Just wondering...

It is held on with doublesided tape, you remove it like you're debadging, only thing you have to worry about is there are 2 tabs in the middle that stick into the trunk, try not to break those, then paint and reapply with doublesided tape

Well after hours of calculations and lots of ?'s to many of you guys(thanx for all the help btw). I finally started the cutting, I used a nice big table saw out at my old bosses shop. The Sub is a DD 9515 d motor. Amp is a Alphasonik pma1200da. Box is about 5.5 cubes before sub port and bracing. Tuning is at 36 hz. I've got 3 4" ports cut at 12.5" long. Here are a few pics still working on her as we speak. It will al be squeezed into the trunk of a 97 Acura 3.0cl. Should beat like crazy I hope, it's gonna be ports forward through ski port and sub back. It is all sealed off as it's a tight fit. If I dont like the sounds I may tear it apart and put both firing forward sealed off. Sadly my back seat does not fold down, and walling or anything like that is not an option as I have my daughter with me from time to time. More pics to come as the work goes on. This is my 3rd box and im pretty happy with it so far.

I hope you're planning on flaring the ports, or you bought flared ones... If you don't, you very well might get port noise, and you're not going to get the output you're really looking for... Other than that, it looks good, and I can't wait to see pics/vids of the final build...

I was a little worried about port noise but eh I don't think it will be to bad. I am just using pvc for now. Lol I am having to put the top panel in after the box is in the car. It's to big to fit if it's on. More pics to come waiting on the rhino liner to dry, then going to put in the box, and then install top piece seal up the top inside and let her dry. Awaiting my sub in the morning.

ok should i put em both back or forward. I was worried with both back it wouldnt get much bass into the trunk as the box pretty much takes up all the open space into the cab, it's basically sealed off

if you're close to being sealed off, then do both forward and completely seal it off... Right now, mine's sub/port back, and it gets pretty loud... Hopefully, I'll be able to get it metered here in the next couple weeks... I'll be competing in Street A, which means I'm limited by the size of my battery, and sub. Also, the car must be off... Should be pretty interesting, and I can't wait to see what the sub'll do...

Ok ill try that. So should I go for slot of keep the pvc ports? If slot how wide should I make the port at 4.5" it's tuned to 32 and is 4.3 cubes is that tuned to low? Should I make it wider, more narrow or leave it

Man i tell you guys im gonna need to hurry with the big 3 and get some cash for a bigger alt, and maybe another batt. When iturned the amp up past half it flipped my breaker good times. So i cut her down to 1/4

For this, go to DD's website, and find what they suggest. Then use RE's enclosure builder to make everything fit the CL

What size breaker do you have? If it's less than 150A, get a larger one, up near 150-200A. This makes your amp seem very inefficient. To solve that, get another batt, replace the front batt, and get a ~200A alt... That should help out quite a bit... Or you could just get a more efficient amp, but with the power that the DD wants, you're going to need the same electrical, so you might as well just keep what you've got.

As for it not being loud enough, if you can't turn the amp's gain above half, I wouldn't worry too much about rebuilding the box just yet... Get your electrical up to par first, then worry about the box...

Well it's a 100a breaker yea i know it's small but hey it was free. So i will order one up when i get some moneys. The setup was louder when it was turned up all the way(well before it shut off and such). But I figured it would have been louder. I must say my trunk lid looks like it's jumping off the car lol and rattle oh the rattle, also i've got some major rear glass and roof flexing goin on which looks cool. But man I can't even imagine what it's doin to the car. So pretty much I think the box needs to be redone, I have one of the orts plugged as it seems louder that way. My main delima is when i redo the box, should i do both back or both into the cab, what would be louder?

Well the box is getting redone this weekend im trimming off 4" on the depth, should make it so i can get her in and out of my friggin trunk. Loosin some cubes but i'll still have 3.5 and dd says 3 or more. I'm also making her into a slot port both firing to the rear(and i may try turning it around and fire both forward. we shall see. And I am pondering trimming off 6" to be able to get my spare tire out if needed. Drops me down to 3.2 cubes though, but i think she should slam just fine. Thoughts?

I would trim down and use the space that's recommended by dd
