Disable factory alarm?
i read the noob guide already couldnt find anything about disable the factory alarm.
Problem: i got the clifford sst alarm install but some how when i remote start the car the stock alarm went off. this only happen after the alarm has been set off by a rice out car with muffler went by.
Is there a way i can disable the stock alarm? remove the right fuse maybe?
i lost the factory remote so that is out of the question.

the stock security control box is right under the front passenger seat. you can take it out but it handles a little more than just the alarm. unless youve had all your sensors rerouted to the new alarm it may cause a few issues. other than that, im not sure, but i dont think this part handles anything with transponder keys but that would need to be confirmed.

the iggnition trigger is always there just because, well its the ignition trigger........... I got used to it, disarm, crank, arm right after pushing the start button.......... alternatively the way the new alarms work is that the factor system is armed and disarmed while the new one is in at the same time, you learn that in that if you trigger any sensor that came stock (all of them) you get the factory siren, you only get the new siren for chirps and also the shock sensor, either thats how it is or my installer just did it that way
anyways, there should be a setting on there that might allow you to NOT arm the factory alarm nderneath and have everything operating off the new alarm............. either

i think there is a wire you can tap going into the stock control box that when you apply ground its the same thing as having pressed unlock on a remote. maybe you can have your new alarm ground that to disengage the stock one?

I have my factory alarm and Compustar alarm working together in sync, no problem. Just have to find where that disarm wire in your car is. 01 CL it is a blue wire in driver's door.
The way I got it hooked up, it doesn't even unlock the doors for 10 seconds on remote start. And both alarms are armed once I lock it.
Anyway go back to your installer and tell them to fix it, and hook it up properly the way you want it.

here's the diagram for your vehicle... http://www.commandocaralarms.com/wiring/1998/Acura/CL
The very last one in the list "Disarm no unlock" blue wire is the one that has to be hooked up to your new alarm. I am not sure where and how since yours is a different brand than mine. But print out the parts of the previous thread where it mentions how to do it and give your installer the wiring diagram and tell him to finish what he started.

Yo your stock alarm is the one going off right?
You got the remote to turn of clifford right?
If so you should be able to stop the stock alarm by simply inserting your car key into the drivers side door. turn it to the right hold it for about 5 seconds and while held open the door.
THat should work for you.

Yo you have an newer model. You are talking about a blue wire? Under the steering wheel to the left there are more than 1 blue wire. ::smart guy::
Please try my method first. If your stock alarm is going off.

the guy is trying to have his car REMOTE started which is triggering his stock alarm. The problem is known and has been explained in this thread with a reference to another thread which explains it in much greater detail. And the blue wire as it has been mentioned is supposed to be in the driver door NOT the steering column

the open door method seem easy im gonna give that a try first as for the blue wire under my passenger seat (that is where the stock alarm brain is) the color is baby blue and it with diff color stripe i will take a picture for you guys. thx a lot for trying to help me out though.

k the key with open driver side door method doesnt work. but good news is i did able to located the blue wire, now should i cut it and ground it or cut it and connect to the new alarm, i heard that if i ground it it will disable the factory alarm completely and that is kinda what i want. let me know what you guys think. and which end do i ground it after i cut it, the end where the brain is or the other end?
