Combining a short shifter and a short shifter adaptor?
anyone try it? I'm looking for not only a shorter stick, but a shorter throw. does the adapter do both or only the shorter throw? the problem is that there aren't very many short shifters (ebay) compared to the adapters. anyone have any experiences with this?

I don't think that it would be too much of a problem, you would probably have to modify the short throw though, mostly due to the fact that most adapters are designed for the OEM fitment. But on the other hand, where are you finding short throw shifters for the accord/CL, it seemed like Neuspeed was the only one that made them, and I can't even find those anymore. Damn performance part manufacturers :pfawk: :sqnteek:

i dont think they make short shifters themselves for our car, that's why we have adapters. I'm sure you could put an adapter on, then hacksaw the shifter as low as you want and try to thread it

the short shifter is an actual stick that shortens the throw...the adapter is a piece of metal that attaches to the cables of the shifter making the throw shorter...it should work...try it

you're not talking about me, right? Because I got the short shift adapter....yes, it shortens the throw quite a bit....if you buy a smaller shift knob and screw it down all the way it actually shortens the stick by about an inch....the knob that i've got is this one (although i didn't buy it from here) titanium shift knob . I purchased the DC sports adaptor from www.autodynamic.com for about $70 or so. A long time ago (probably about a year) they stopped making actual short shifters for the accord....for reasons unknown. One guy was selling custom made shifters on ebay but again, that was about a year ago...about the only thing you can do is get the adaptor, and buy an aftermarket shift knob!

thanks for the input cltech. however, i think it was some other dude. i know for sure that he got a dc short shifter (not the adapter) for 99 dollars or something like that i believe. can't say i remember where tho. has anyone tried cutting the stick so it is shorter vs. sticking the knob all the way down?
