I've done it to my old cl.... Technially the dash don't have to come out, but it would be better to work with a lot of space since you will be replacing the brake pedal and adding a clutch pedal.

Just have to take it to a shop that knows what they are doing and u should be fine...

are you saying 2000 for the entire conversion including parts and labor? if so its not so bad considering just fixing an auto tranny can run around that price... if i woulda been into my CL a bit more when i did the tranny fix ($1500) i woulda gone 5-speed...

Just do a motor swap and get the tranny changed out at the same time. Two birds with one stone. My buddy is getting an SR20DE put into his 240 and he is having them do a auto to manual conv. and its costing him like 5300

You mean the SR20DET right? I believe the SR20DE is just the stock engine it already comes with.

And for $2000, not bad at all. And it'd be a great idea to kill 2 birds with one stone if you can afford it by going with the H22. Goodluck...

I know this is irrelevant, but the stock motor comes with a KA24DE ...the SR's are the J-spec motors.

I ahve never heard of the sr20de, only the sr20det, the stock motor is a a ka24 which is a usdm motor, the sr20det is the jdm motor, there is no car called a 240sx in japan caues there is no 2.4lt in japan thats why they either have a 180sx (1.8 turbo), 200sx(2.0 turbo) or a Silvia.

Wow i shoud have read the reat of the thread and i wouldnt ahve ahd to type this hahaha

The sr20de engine i think comes in the S15 stock, not to sure on that, but I know it exists. I know the S13's use the KA24 engine like you had mentioned. Either that, or they use it on the Sentra's. I forget where it comes from. But if I'm wrong, eh...

Btw the SR20DE engines are used in the Sentra's SER. Just figured it out yesterday. I knew they existed.

This is a noob question I am sure... but I have not been on here much... I tried searching first and didn't really find an answer... I have an 01 and I want to know if you can swap a 5 spd into it? I would like to fore go the auto tranny issues that are sure to be on the horizon.
