Hello everyone here at ACL. I am new to this board if you could not tell. i have been reading up tho for about the last 3 months. i was thinking of getting a 99 CL 3.0 Pre. and i wanted your opinions about it. i have found a few for around 9000-15000$ with around 40000-90000 miles on them. i just wanted to know if you would suggest this car over all others in this price range. since you guys all own or have owned these cars for a while i figured that you would be the best people to ask. i do have a 93 "legend" with about 130000 that is perfect. and i decided i wanted a CL as well.

I was also thinking of getting some new head lights for the CL when i get it. As well as some Clear corners and i was thinking about Levoc shifter and some nice gauges, since i dont have all the funds to put it on AIR :P
i was also thinking of an intake from AEM or INJEN i wanted to know what power (HP) gain came with that if any at all. and would i have to get a muffler as well?

i got a 97 3.0 prem. its a nice car. if you wanna mod it go right ahead. by changing headligths, you mean changing the bulbs? i got the nokyo arctic whites for the hi and low beams and piaa xtreme white for the rest of them. some people will say they are rice but i like them cuz i can see better at night.

i have a AEM CAI. some power gain, but probably not that much. has a nice roar sound to it at a certain rpm. you odn't need a muffler if you don't want.

CAIs have minimal gain (2-3 HP), but I still think they're worth it.

As far as a comparison to other makes, I think that Acura has the most to offer in their price range.!

Your best HP gains will come from a combination of intake/headers/exhaust, and possibly pullies. Then again, a nice 75-shot of nitrous will more than double that output.

If you're gonna change bulbs, get HIDs! Nothing compares to them!

Remember, this is PEAK gain. CAI in the 3.0 have 10 MAX gain at a certain point(s). The V2 has almost 10 MAX gain over the standard CAI at one point!.

What about getting an 97 or 98 3.0 or 2.X? I believe the 99 3.0 only came in an automatic (i think) and a stick is waaaayyyy more fun to drive.
I got my 98 2.3 with 28,000 miles for under $10 grand, so there's so good ones out there in your price range.
