Is the Accord suspension the same as the CL???

i have a 97 3.0 cl. i have people tellin me that the 90-97 accord springs and shocks will fit my car. however i spoke to one person who said that it may fit but it's not a perfect fit. is this true. if so, what would you guys reccommend for shocks and springs for my car. if any of you get good deals on it too, let me know cuz i'm lookin to upgrade the suspension soon! thanks

Same chasis, but keep in mind the 3.0 is a little heavier than the 2 door 94-97 accord by about 250lbs. So it might have an effect on the way springs settle, ride etc....

yup casper. accord sways fit perfect, but dont mount perfectly right. the springs and shocks for an accord are the same though. so order them for 94-97 accord. same for strut bars.

They do fit and mount perfectly... just there is a difference(possibily weight of vehicles) that adds tension to the links... So they snap or bend... I just ordered(3rd time in 3 yrs) new ones from ENERGY SUSPENSIONS which I never had before so I hope they are stronger.... But all is the same btwn 94-97 Accord & 97-99 CL as per chassis...

I had a 90 accord and bought some progressive springs. On the box it said that it also fit 97 acura cl. Wouldn't reccomend that you get those springs but they do fit.

as far as things go with my prokits they are a little lower in the back because of my box... hehe...so thats why mine are like that...

but try using the search feature this site has like wat angelcl said...it is very helpful in finding some answers right away...just to help you out here

i dunno much about the spring rates of the accord and Cl...but the weight of the 97 accord is about the same as the 99 5 speed manual transmission CL if not very close...so should be pretty even as far as weight except the 3.0 im not too sure bout...

well the thing is im thinking about going with sprint springs... they have one for the accord that drops 2.25 but its for I-4 see in this case the front will be lower then the back which i wont it to be... i was just wondering if there will be ride difference to 3.0 v6 thanks

if the chassis for the 94-97 accord is the same as the 97-99 cl....then what about the engine? I thought the engine for the 98 accord and the engine for the 98 and 99cl were the same? Is this right? So if i'm gonna get an AEM CAI...should i get the one for the 98 accord? thanks...

very true. the springs might sag a bit due to the increased weight. i needed a camber kit (ingalls) for mine. i got it lowered (94-97 accord 4cyl springs) the week i bought the car. the aftermarket for the car was non-existent back then. i later ended up using coilovers mainly for the fact that the springs used have a higher spring rate and were less likely to sag.
