ABS Failed

Yup this sucks. A truck with a flatbed tailer carrying a fork lift decides to do an illegal U-turn on the interstate. This dumbass cuts right in front of everyone of course I'm going 80mph and I'm the closest to him. I jam on my breaks and just start sliding. ABS failed I dont know if it would have helped much but i still hit at like 40mph. The car is totalled. Anyone else ever have problems with the ABS not working?

I'm ok just a little banged up. On the turnpike in FL there are no u-turns they are there for police to turn around. The truck cut accross from the right lane and was in the median when I struck him. It was all his fault he got ticketed and the cop later told me was fired by the company he worked for on the spot. Havent heared back from their insurance company yet on the damages. I'm hoping they total it it will never drive the same again if its repaired.

My ABS hasn't ever really worked since I got the car, I've replaced all 4 calipers, and all my wheel speed sensors, and an axle, and the ABS light still comes on randomly. I've read that the O-Rings fail in the ABS pump module. That's the only thing I haven't replaced cuz it's like a grand

It looks like you were on the highway, but you still were going 80, ABS won't help you slow down much at that speed

Don't you hate how mushy our brakes are when you really need them? It really scares me, and I think this should be one of the top upgrades for everyone.

Id say you should sue Acura, for failiure of the ABS and the airbag not disengaging. it looks pretty bad front impact. is your car lowered in any way? i think you could do something.

when i bought my car the abs light was on. guy had it checked at the dealer and they said the sensor was bad. quick fix. funny thing is its never worked for me...

and speaking of brake upgrades (no jack intended), i'm doing my back ones now, but i hear you can't replace just one set with drilled/slotted while the other is stock. supposedly you have to do them all at once due to one being more powerful and off setting things. can anybody shed some light on this?

My ABS works...just not on ICE I think that it has saved my ass a few times when people in front of me make abrupt stops for no reason whatsoever.

I do know that, I'm just saying I don't think you can completely blame the ABS for the accident because 80 MPH to a stop in a short distance is nearly impossible for our braking system without lots of stopping distance, it's called momentum

I hit the truck at about 40mph don't know if ABS had actually worked if the front end of my car would have been saved. What funny is ABS light never came on in the year I had the car. I never knew that they didnt work untill i actually needed them. To everyone looking for parts I haven't heard anything about the car yet. My adjuster hasn't called me back with any info. I'll keep ya posted
