its unique.......... plenty of people drop in H22s........ G22s arent as common (or so I think), but had I not found this head at the junkyard that day I would be just like this thread, boosting the F22........ now its the G22, and then some boost, thats actually really the only real purpose to making the G22 anyways......... I contemplated taking the whole engine off that prelude, but I couldnt drive off with it, and 2 if I wanted the turbo id have to resleeve the thing anyways.......... too much trouble........... now all I need are the small pieces, biggest of which is a new H22 head gasket

I think all of those pre-made kits are a waste of money. It doesn't include any fuel or engine management, which in my opinion is the most important part. The cold side piping will probably fit, but I'd be really surpized if you didn't have to hack up the hotside charge piping. Also, there is no dumptube for the external wastegate, so you'd be forced to make your own open atmosphere dump tube if you used their downpipe which would be pretty loud and obnoxious.
Good luck with the partial sponsorship, but I think it's a pretty big longshot. As for the GT-K series turbos, I couldn't even find them on Turbonetics' website and I know they haven't even released the compressor maps yet. How do you know the 325 will even be a good match for the f22b1? Also, from what I've heard about the prices of the GT-K turbos, one of those will cost you about the same as that whole kit you're looking at.

Yes I know the manifold has a flange for an external wastegate. What the kit doesn't include is any sort of dumptube from the wastegate. If you don't have one, the hot exhaust gas will shoot straight out of the wastegate and melt or cover in carbon whatever happens to be in the way.
With a dumptube you have two options:
1) Vent it to the atmosphere- this will make a little bit more power but will also be very loud whenever your wastegate opens.
2) Recirculate into the downpipe - this will be much less loud than venting to the atmosphere but can potentially lose power if you don't do it properly.
As for the GT-K turbos, they're not something that I'd go for. This turbo costs $1640, it doesn't even have compressor maps to show if your motor would be a good match for it's efficiency zone, it can't be rebuilt if it gets fucked up, and it's only been on the market for a month or two. Go with a journal bearing garrett turbo and spend your money on making the rest of your kit reliable.

I'm going to be running a fully rebuilt Big 16g off an evo 3, has great power for our cars and pulls hard, even in 5th gear. It depends on your power goals. I'm shooting for 300whp at times, so this turbo is good. Also, if you want to go with garrett instead, a T3/O4e 57 trim .48/.60 A/R would be good for the 300whp and up region.
If your looking for sub-300hp, I'd check out a Super60 turbo made by turbonetics or a T3 60trim .63/.60 A/R, either of those will spool very fast and can make decent power. It all depends on what your power goals are. If you want around 300whp, I'd highly suggest the MHI 16g turbo's, I know a guy who rebuilds them for next to nothing and the way he builds them, they will run for many years, he does a great job. Let me know if your interested and I can give you his contact info.
Ps-Don't buy chinese knock-off turbo's!!! They are terrible and you'll regret it

I don't really have any personal experience with what turbo matches the f22b1 the best but I've checked out a few compressor maps and heard a few peoples opinions.
A T3 60 trim will probably be your best choice if you're looking for something that will spool quick and be fun to drive on the streets, but it will fall out of efficiency if you start shooting upwards of 250 whp. You can get these turbos with a .48 a/r turbine housing or a .60 a/r. The .48 will spool quicker but won't output as much in the high RPMs as the .60.
A T3/T04E has a bigger compressor and is capable of much more power. It will lag more than the T3 but will also give higher peak power and torque numbers. If you plan on making more than 250whp, I'd suggest getting a T3/T04E 50 trim or 57 trim.
Those are a couple of good options if you're looking at garrett journal bearing turbos.
