my car has the factory spoiler, so the third brake light is on there. however, i have one in the window too. it does not work. anybody know how to hook it up/make it work?

run a new wire to the other brake light..

or you could unplug your brake light on your spoiler and plug it into your other brake light..
but i dont think thats what you mean..

They disable it since you have a working brake light on the spoiler. You can however wire it so that you have both the spoiler and window brake light to work.

Would splicing the wire that goes to the spoiler to a wire that goes to the window brake light work? Any downfalls to doing it that way?

Well technically you have to make sure the power source can take the load of both lights at once. But chances are you can just tap it off. Just find out which lead is positive from the main feed and run it to a female spade to hook to the 3rd brake light in the window. Also get another piece of wire with a female spade and hook it to the ground terminal and ground it. You could also just spade and tap both power and ground from the main feed that you are tapping anyways.

if i had a spoiler..id remove the 3rd brake light. seems unnecessary.

^^ yea it seems like alot of brake lights. i thought cl's looked pretty clean with just 2 normal brakelights

too many brake lights IMO. the 2 tails and spoiler is enough.

you might just end up with a plane landing on your ass instead, and IMHO thats not really cool.

I guess that makes my stand very clear in having the # of brake lights that I have.....

BTW "southernjersecl" i did the same just hook the third brake light inot the wire that is supplying power to the spolier lights if you go in your trunk you will see how the wiring works...you might need to buy the plug I am not suer if I did ....I will look at what I did and post again...but here are some pics of how it looks ...I have added an additionla 48led brake light and have tapped inot the same wire.....it is real cheap on ebay fo like a bukc or so...but work real nice....
