1st Gen Shift Solenoids - where are they?

my 1996 2.5 TL Sedan does not shift consistently. it will periodically not shift to the next gear unless I left up on the gas momentarily.

what do you think is the cause?
i was planning Tom remove and clean/test the shift solenoids but donít know where they are located on the trans. A few pictures or a diagram would help.
can they be removed once car is jacked up?

any threads on here to do this? Are there filters/screens beneath the shift solenoids that can get clogged?

any suggestions/help appreciated.
