Need advice. I want to change the 3.0 on my cl but everything I read says that the engine and tranny have to come out together. I want to know if I can remove the engine only. I know that 97's and 98's you can but not convinced that I can't remove the engine only on the 99.

If someone has done this, let me know. Additionally, what problems were encountered during the removal and installation.

I haven't done this myself, but I saw a 99 CL 3.0 in the wrecking yard that had its engine and flex plate fully intact in place under the hood with only the automatic transmission neatly removed.
